    https://news.usc.edu/63669/fasting-triggers-stem-cell-regeneration-of-damaged-old-immune-system/

n the first evidence of a natural intervention triggering stem cell-based regeneration of an organ or system, a study in the June 5 issue of the Cell Stem Cell shows that cycles of prolonged fasting not only protect against immune system damage — a major side effect of chemotherapy — but also induce immune system regeneration, shifting stem cells from a dormant state to a state of self-renewal.

In both mice and a Phase 1 human clinical trial involving patients receiving chemotherapy, long periods of not eating significantly lowered white blood cell counts. In mice, fasting cycles then “flipped a regenerative switch,” changing the signaling pathways for hematopoietic stem cells, which are responsible for the generation of blood and immune systems, the research showed.

Hope you find the information useful. I will use intermittent fasting as a part of my reboot, because after weeks of low caloric food and now the first 30 hours without any food at all, I feel clearer in my mind, happier, calmer and actually not hungry at all.

drinking 1.5 l water is a good habit . not taking proper diet isn't good . u can go for fasting once or twice a month but taking not enough nutrition is really dangers. better follow a balanced diet that includes high protein and vitamins and less fat .. don't live on low diets , better do exercise to use ur extra energy

And those balanced diets fail miserably.

I don't think so .brother add proper exercises or play some outdoor game daily . then even a unbalanced diet will not hurt you

In that case, people who exercised and played outdoors would never get cancer or any other disease.

Please, refrain from posting nonsense in my topic.

Nonsense? I wouldn't call it that. By lacking calories you lack nutrients. Now overweight getting ready for a show I see it. But just to fast for the sake of fasting is stupid. Clean up your foods and most problems will go away. Our bodies weren't meant to starve. But if your pushing fasting I'm guessing your a little overweight problem is fasting will make you hungrier and cause you to eat more.

But if your skinny I wouldn't even touch fasting you will just get skinnier and its really not healthy. But depends on goals I want to get stronger faster and bigger eating less will get rid of those. Also I wouldn't recommend fasting if you exercise and exercise is the key to being healthy so it seems like it would hurt your progress.

Now when you say fasting do you mean eating nothing or just eating between a certain amount of time like 2-5 then not eating anything else? And obviously if you have a fast metabolism and are trying to put on weight you need to eat more its just that simple eating less will cause you to lose more. But its all genetics in the end and you just have to work around it and be smart.

Please, read the links. I have not supported starvation, LMAO.

And no, I'm not overweight or obese. I'm very skinny, unnaturally thin. But fasting can still be good.

You ask so many questions, yet the answers are in this topic.

And why should I eat food when I am not hungry? My body is currently under repair, the diffuse pain I've been suffering from in my abdominal area is gone. Explain that, please.

I have tried all kinds of diets, low carb, high carb, vegan, vegeterian, meat diets, milk diets. None works efficiently enough because it seems like my digestive system has been in need of a rest, because some months I ate 6,000 calories a day and did not gain a pound. (I'm not sick or suffering from cancer).

Read the studies and we don't need to have a debate.

I repeat: All animals and our ancestors fasted.

Wounded animals refuses to eat, because fasting will speed up healing process. They know this by instinct.

Fair enough, Clumsy. Again, much respect. Do what works best for you, fella.

As for living out in the woods. I've often felt like that myself, but have spent days out camping in woodlands and to be honest it wasn't all that great, especially in late winter when it's just too cold. Nice for a couple of days and to be away from the world, but anymore than that and you'll risk your own sanity. Trust me, it's youthful folly to dream that such things are easy and safe to do.

The only thing we can do right now is wait.

You are right, but a month out in the woods, with fresh air and the company of my dog, would be really good for my recovery, for any recovery.

We forget things so easily, the importane of the sun and fresh air. City life is really unhealthy, no matter what you eat, the air is poisoned and the whole atmosphere is just not healthy.

Clumsy the max I'm doing is 16 to 19 hrs fast everyday. My moms okay with that.
Because I live with my parents and I don't think mom will appreciate this idea of fasting for so long like you do.

I understand, but I have not said that anybody here should fast, I have showed evidence of the benefits of fasting. I will do it, I don't force anybody to it.

Keep eating healthy and exercise if you want to build muscle, though I sometimes believe that this unnatural fascination with muscles is a result of masturbation.

Bodybuilders are in general frequent masturbators, hence they are so sensitive to junk food, has problems with the prostate, and not seldom are they bald.

Very true. I'd recommend just taking a tent out and sneaking to the woods one night, having a carefully lit campfire and chilling with it for the night. Very good for the soul to look up at stars in the forest at night by a campfire. The starry skies are so clear out there, we just don't see it in town and cities because of the light pollution. I have many wonderful memories of doing this in my early 20's. It's a must do.

If you can hack a day, you'll be able to do a few days, but never a month, or at least never a month without losing your mind that is. :)

Do you live in a city, Clumsy?

I spend considerable time out in the woods and on the country side in general, and I love it. But it was over 2 years ago I lit a fire and looked up on the stars at night. Damn, it's lovely.

I live in a city, yes. I like city life too, I like to take long walks in the evenings in city, it's refreshing and I enjoy the city life, but I need a break from it.
