Reading your posts here is exactly what I needed. I've not been able to stay with SLAA or UA meetings because of HP and being told to be open-minded. It is comical when I reply that I am more open minded than a believer! Anyone in Los Angeles that goes to Secular meetings please let me know the good ones. Thank you.

HP means higher power. A lot of addiction groups like AA and NA (narcotics anonymous) and SA (sexaholics anonymous) and SAA (sex addicts anonymous) believe that one needs to have a spiritual revolution in order to stop and that requires dependence on a higher power. You can define the higher power whatever you want, but you still need something above you. The AA bible quotes Carl Jung and relies on part on some of the stuff that he says.
