Spelling and pronunciation in English is nuts. Why do pour, hour and tour sound differently? Why do loose-lose, principal-principle, past-passed sound the same? I think 'lose' is more often spelled wrong than right lol.

I think English's a little mixed up due to the large amount of influences it had e.g. from French. At least it would explain the principle-principal thing...
