I've never liked the film. They are so psychological so there's little action. However, the book is different but I read it as a teenager and I cried :)

Part of my reading plan is to inundate myself with as much rebooting material as possible to get enough knowledge and wisdom (positive brainwashing) to break the curse of my porn addiction. So far, I can say that it is working great.

When you start your automatic behavior, there's sometimes a moment of self-awareness - what am I doing? That's the only time you can modify your behavior. However, the addiction is strong and is conditioned over the years and there's a "pot of gold" at the end. Another "healthy pot of gold" is not certain and located in the distant future. The only way to make it seem closer is to THINK about it and pursue it as a goal.

@TheLinari, nice score. I'm trying to read more than one book a month but I was a bit pressed for time because of work. However, I read multiple books at the same time, so I may finish several in the same month :D

I can't keep up the pace with you, @TheLinari. In the past I would feel bad about it. However, I still enjoy this race. Currently, I'm a bit overwhelmed by my workload. I need to do some work tasks after work or I feel too tired or too anxious to read.
"Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself" is the game changer for me. It encouraged me to meditate regularly and it proposed several techniques that seem to slowly. For several days I've been trying to reduce / "unlearn" anxiety. However, the book is constructed in a way so that the reader needs to some stage in particular order so as to move further. So currently I need to stop reading it for a week to see the effects.

"1984" is a bit extraordinary book, a bit scary and pessimistic, so I only read it when my mood is stable and I sometimes I don't feel like reading it.

There are two other novels that I treat as an escape from reality but sometimes PMO has a stronger pull.

Yet, I'm determined to complete them this month, so that I have the stats of one book a month at least. Anyway, I'm impressed by your reading speed and nofap counter.

The most important thing for me is application when reading a book. And guess what you are making an application of Break the Habit of Being Yourself, a book that I really want to read this quarter. I like Joe Dispenza's work. I watched his series on Gaia TV sometime last year.

I can read more now because my work responsibilities have reduced significantly this month. I am also single. I have an hour every day to read.

The books that I have read and still reading on porn addiction have played a significant role in my current streak. I am also enrolled in a Christian porn recovery program called the Freedom Fight which has worked wonders in helping me battle porn daily. I can't take full credit for my current streak. I have had to learn so many new strategies to handle this insidious addiction.

I have not read '1984'. I will check out its synopsis and decide whether to read it.
