Funny. Had been a video game addict. Was actually not that bad in strategy games, even thought would make it into E-Sports somehow, years ago. Wasted time.
People should be allowed to do things they enjoy without being made to feel bad about not being productive every second of the day. Addiction is obviously a problem, but theres no need to "bash" video games in general. That's just my opinion.
I think that videogames can be used strictly in moderation without many detrimental effects - and have been linked to many positive effects, although I do think that gaming can be addictive and it certainly was for me, maybe even currently. I can't say the same thing about porn. I'm trying to figure out why that is. Note that YourBrainRebalanced.com has a section on gaming.
Agreed. Obviously, there is a point where its overboard, but video games is just a form of entertainmemt like any other and life would be pretty dull without entertaiment lol
Drugs used in moderation can also have some positive effects, and according to some people same goes for fapping. You can also hit someone in the face and feel good. But the danger of wasting your time and power is too high. Too many people acting like kiddies because of games and not wanting to face reality.
Sure, because the high of doing drugs is clearly equivalent to the motor skills development in children that video games provides Sorry, dude, but you just sound like an extremist who doesn't really know what they're talking about. Video games can actually help a lot of people with real life skills, completely different than whatever supposed benefits you get from drugs or porn. For example, I have a nephew who is autistic and his fine motor skills are terrible. Video games can definitely help with that. He will be better off in his life having fun while developing his motor skills, rather than suppressing any enjoyment and working on those skills in a classroom that he hates, using methods that don't work well with his brain and are ineffective. Excuse you? You call yourself a man of God, telling people to "repent from their opinion" just because it differs from yours? Get off your high horse. Also, super ironic to see your recent status about how great humility is.
Opinions aren't "sin". People shouldn't feel any wrongdoing in what they think. Thoughts aren't crimes
Didn't you post something once about people needing to humble themselves? Maybe you should take your own advice...
Well, that's my opinion, live with it. Yeah, some simulation games can be useful and actually be teaching, I was not talking about them. Yet it's still debatable if their use is the best way to therapy in this area. I also know few autistic people who just dig into their games and ignore the whole world which is not extremely helpful either. Yeah, gaming can be compared to drugs. Many people including me get/got mad and antisocial because of it. Sitting the whole day isn't healthy either.
Interesting, so you're allowed to have an opinion and we have to live with it, but I need to "repent" from mine?
I'm not disagreeing with you on that, but someone who goes to the bar and has one beer isn't an alcoholic. There's nothing wrong with gaming in moderation. It's actually been proven to improve a person's problem solving abilities. You're probably REALLY good at that now lol. I use to have issues with it when I was younger (I'm mildly autistic too.) I've gotten to a point where I can just do it once and a while, now. I haven't touched my ps4 in a good week or so.
Exactly, your opinion, do not try to force your way of thinking or invalidate the other's opinions just because you don't like them.
Can we please stop bashing things because our lack of interest or lack of understanding compels us to excrete useless controversy over recreational entertainment? It's time wasted. I'm seeing video games berated, and then sometimes religion berated on a mostly white screen; After this I'm going to continue my modding for a video game, and pray. See how your posts affected me? Yourselves? Yeah big waste of time, and energy.
