Hi all, So I have a question: Is MO without Porn/fantasizing and focusing on the sensation of MO healthy? So I understand the whole situation physiological effects when you PMO, the dopamine and learned behavior is what is leading to all the problems people encounter with this addiction. I understand that you'll still have the dopamine release and all the good feelings when you just MO. I also understand that this could lead to a slippery slope of heading back to P... I wanted to see what others thoughts are on this matter.
I think that having an addiction makes M bad because you can't do it moderately. Lets say you decide to M without P. On the first day you probably made it, but on the second day you need something more, a sense of novelty, so you seek porn. I tried, I really did, I don't condemn MO, it can be healthy if you do it once a week. But the real question is, can you really just do it once? Can you beat the chaser effect? Can you do it always without porn? My answer was no, each person is different.
The real question is does M alone produce withdrawals in the same with in that porn does. That would be interesting to know.
