It's like asking why anybody gets an addiction in the first place, there's a lot of reasons.

Once a addiction takes place are you always addicted or can you be normal again

 

Like a drug addiction and you can stop doing drugs

 

Usually it's either to do with peer pressure, curiosity, no self control or maybe even an underlying condition like anxiety that draws the person to it.

 

I think you will always be addicted but you can heal if you never go back to it. Same as a cocaine addict or alcoholic.

 

You can be as normal as can one can be as long as you completely quit the addiction, then your neural plasticity should rewire new healthy pathways replacing the old addicted behavioural ones.

 

Depends on the person though, that doesn't always hold true. Three of my addictions where food, coffee and booze, but I'm able to go back to them without a single problem. I still don't really drink alcohol but am not bothered by cravings or anything.

 

Yeah definitely depends on the addiction. But if it's porn addiction I know for a fact I will go back to watching it again if I relapse. Cause it's happened to me before.

exactly! anything that can distract us from porn or if you wanna air your dirty laundry or grievances this is the thread to be!

 

The discussions were going well, and someone brought up the analogy of coke vs pepsi when it came down to atheists vs religious people and I interjected with the comment, "Coke is way better than pepsi" and that's how it all started LOL
