There's probably no good reason for private messages from the opposite sex, assuming heterosexuality. Why can't people just post openly if it's about rebooting?
@mcrcvrng agreed but sometimes it's nice to get help from an AP. I've had many successful male APs but unfortunately some do not really care about your success and healing :/
I'm sorry you had that kind of experience. Perhaps that's why a small AP group would be good, rather than being alone with someone there would be some kind of social accountability and if ulterior motive comes up there are others to keep an eye on it. If I were to start a group I would explicitly state that in the beginning and call for people to step up if they ever see that kind of sketchy behavior.
