I have this too. Something that helps me deal with it is my mums tough love advice: "other people don't think about you nearly as much as you think about yourself". Sounds harsh, but it really did work for me.

Try to remember that the people you interact with are human just like you, with the same flaws, failings and insecurities. Does it matter what they think of you? Also, if you feel people look down on you, think of qualities you find respectable and admirable and then try to embody those qualities.
