    Hey guys,

I joined NoFap almost a week ago and started right away with tackling my addiction of PMO-ing once a day. As enthusiastic as I was at the time, I failed my mission and relapsed on my 6th day for 4 times. The urge was too real! After I had come to understand what I had done, I felt depressed and defeated. Not to worry, I am determined to try it again, for my dream of living a better life depends on it!

Now to get to the point of this post. The thing I wanted to warn people about (potentially newbies) and the thing that made me fail, is the state of doing nothing in your free time.

Being bored or being too lazy to get up and doing something is the most dangerous thing about this challenge, because it reverts your mind to what you're trying not to do, and that is to fap to porn. You slowly start thinking dirty thoughts. Thinking of previous porn videos that you remember seeing. Thinking of your favorite porn star. It is a cruel joke that your mind is playing against you, until you finally break.

This is why it is so important to keep yourself positively occupied by doing an activity. It is the best way of keeping your mind out of the gutter. Do something constructive like exercising, helping your neighbor, cleaning your house. ANYTHING!

This is my short advice for everyone today, I felt it needed to be shared. I for one am not making the same mistake again. Thank you for reading until now.

Let's all beat this addiction together :D

good post. being home alone doing nothing but watching tv is when I relapsed last after ny record 11 days. this tone around I'm trying to learn from that. Im on day 8 and was home alone again, and instead of being unproductive watching tv I did laundry and cleaned up around the house, made myself a healthy lunch, worked out for an hour and a half, then hung out at the pool with some peeps from my church.

the easy route would have been to stay in and fap the day away, but instead I feel energetic, confident, strong, and accomplished. :)

for me, NoFap life means productive life and that's definitely the way to go!

I prefer not to generalize everyone with all encompassing statements. That said, I do believe a lot of people could benefit from being more efficient with their time, rather than just filling it with meaningless things to do instead of fapping.

Go to school, run, lift weights, do something healthy. Better your life, don't choose videogames or something that isn't going to make your life better just to "fill the time gap".

    Good luck everyone.

I've found 1)finding myself at home alone and 2)alcohol as major triggers in undoing a lot of good work. Together, they're deadly. There may be some value from going dry too, though I haven't attempted this yet.

youre doing great "dudehelpme" i think staying busy is the key. it is when i dont think about it so it must be good. my rule which helps the most is simply whenever i get an urge go on a support group like this and write or read or do both. it always replaces the feeling your seeking with something much more healthy as we know all to well

That's an excellent point. Only alternatives I can think of is to "rough it out" OR maybe take in a sleeping pill. However if you take the latter option, you should check if it doesn't mess with your health somehow.
