Hi guys, I'm a 48 y/o father of two, married, trying to get out of this rut I'm in with porn. I'm looking forward to some healthy, mutual support and encouragement. It was so good to find this place! -N
Thanks! It is really encouraging to see all the guys who are breaking free and those who have broken free. I also really appreciate the no-shame environment here. - N
There is no shame here, my friend. We are all in the same boat and trying to paddle to safety together!
We've all seen it all, heard it all, made all the same excuses to ourselves and to others for our behaviors. For me it was being late, or missing things altogether because i was engaged with PMO. Will
Same here. Several times I've almost missed picking my kids up for karate class because I was busy with PMO.
Thanks, Will. Been out of town a few days. Just finished up four days with no PMO. This will be a tough week. I'm working from home (alone) all week and under a lot of stress!
Back to zero. I can see my danger zone is in 1) being alone, 2) being under pressure from a deadline.
I hear you. I think it's a matter of thinking of new healthy strategies to deal with boredom and stress.
Ugh! Just hit day seventeen and I've discovered the dopamine-withdrawal depression some of you guys have been talking about. It's pretty bad but not intolerable, so far. I'm hanging in there and I am going to take my kids out for a bike ride later today for some exercise to try to counter the blahs I've got.
Hey N! Adding a stretching routine or weightlifting while focusing on your breathing could be very beneficial as well. You could do it after a bike ride
Thanks for the tip! I've got a bunch of weights in storage and am hoping to get them moved back home and start lifting again. Right now, the garage is full of other junk that has to be cleared out before I can lift. The dopamine thing may be just the motivation I need to get rid of the junk and start lifting again.
Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you. The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?
