Believe it or not i stopped fapping long before i knew NoFap existed, i already knew the advantages, and i expeeienced it first hand. But i fell into the pornhole and fucked my life and my relationship.

Why does it happen? Temptation always gets to us

Well, you're here, which means you haven't given up, which means you haven't truly failed.

Give yourself a little bit of grace.

I wish my addiction had stopped with porn. I lost a 6-year marriage to a woman who's probably the best human being I've ever known ... because I was repeatedly unfaithful. If you had told me when I was 20, "you're going to cheat on your wife over and over," I would have told you to go f*** yourself. But that's exactly what happened.

But you know what? By the grace of God, she and I still have a good relationship. We love one another unconditionally. I've lost so much because of my addiction: my spirituality, productivity, self-confidence, energy, zest for life, loss of relationships, and God-only-knows how many hours of time. And yet, I still have hope. We can get better. Our brains can heal.

In one of my first meetings for Sex Addicts Anonymous, I sat in a room and heard the following stories:

    - a guy who had 19 affairs in the course of his 23-year marriage
    - a guy who contracted HIV from casual sex
    - a guy who was waiting for his sentencing for child porn charges (he knew he was going to prison for a while, and he was wearing an ankle monitor)
    - a guy who lost his medical practice and entire career--after a decade of insanely expensive schooling--because he was sexual with a patient.

Basically, as much as you feel like you've "fucked your life," the truth is that there are always worse stories than yours. And if those people can seek help and healing, so can you.

    Glad you're here.

Any addiction tries to bind you, puts you in chains. Addiction also lies to you, tells you your not worthy, feel ashamed, guilty and unable to really change. Do not listen to these lies! Dig yourself back out of this hole. Temptation is always around every corner unfortunately. Remember what caused you to relapse, remember how bad it feels... Use this as more motivation and encouragement during those tough times. Stay focused! Now is not the time to wallow in self pity, be the warrior!
