I heard about nofap months ago but I didn't really thought it was really necessary for me. I believed that restraining yourself from PMO would be no big deal. I would go on aiming for a 1 year streak and ends up fapping on the same day. Then I decided to break down my goals in months, then it became weeks, but I wasn't even able to maintain a 4 day streak. That's when I started searching about mastrubation and its effects on the net. Honestly, I got a bit scared while reading a few of them and I thought that if I continued this, I'd end up ruining my life. But I don't know why but this fear suddenly disappears when I see something innaproriate on the net. Its not like that the fear is not still in me, but the fear seems insufficient to make me close the screen and do the right thing. The longest streak I was able to maintain was 20 days. I read in many articles that it takes 21 days to break a habit. I was pretty determined for the first 15 days. It became hard for me the remaining five days. But I kept my nerves and on day 21 I was really happy and excited thinking I have broken the habit of PMO. I restricted my usage of internet to like 1 hour per week so I decides to make up for it on that day. I don't know what came to me suddenly because I felt an uncontrollable urge to watch porn. I tried to fight it but I didn't close the screen. I ended up relapsing and that was a very tragic day for me. Of course like every relapse, those feeling went away but it still hurts to think about that. For the next few months I tried to carry on some streaks but always ended up relapsing. Let's be honest, I did it 3 days ago. Today after losing all other hopes, I decided to join nofap. I can see that sufficient informations and guidance are being given to the users and I appreciate the good work. I think its good to have a place where you can share your experiences and feelings rather than going on this righteous path alone. Honestly, I feel a lot better with renewed confidence after opening up here and I'm determined to succeed in thus 21 day challenge as an initial phase of my journey. I hope That my journey will be accompanied by other fellow users who are facing similar situations, Because PMO is an evil that can stand between you and right decisions.

I will try to post regular updates and would appreciate if others would post updates too.

Welcome to NoFap where you are amongst friends who are here to encourage you and sometimes challenge you but not judge you.

The enemy is here to steal, kill and destroy. What are your current strategies for combating the enemy called PMO?

Thank you for the encouragement. I dont have much of a strategy but I'm trying my best to stay away from internet. I Just spend a few minutes on this site and nothing much else. I've been staying away from facebook, Youtube and other normal sites that I used to visit earlier because I'm afraid that I might end up seeing something inappropriate which can result in a relapse as it usually does. I've used many porn blocking softwares but none of them were really usefull. So I believe staying away from the net can really help you to achieve self control and keep your mind clear from bad thoughts. I also started reading books instead of spending time in front of TV because even TV isn't safe for me. I don't know why but I can't make myself change the channel when something inappropriate comes up.Books keep my mind busy so my mind does not get diverted into somewhere it should not be. I try my best to spend most time outside my house because being an introvert is what I believe the main reason behind engaging in PMO.

I know this isn't much of a strategy but I hope its enough. I would appreciate if you would give me your honest feedbacks and suggestions on my strategies and provide me with others useful measures.
