Will there always be a porn industry?

As long as people are having sex, there will always be a porn industry, unfortunately.

 

"The powers that be", in this case, are you and me. The only thing that would stop the porn industry is if everyone that consumed pornography suddenly stopped consuming pornography. Pornography has been around for thousands of years. The industry aspect of it, of course, is a modern occurrence. But, to answer your question, no, I don't believe there will ever be enough people willing to stop viewing porn to no longer make it worthwhile for those that profit from it.

There will always be porn, and it is becoming even more and more extreme !

Think of virtual reality, think of Oculus Rift, that journey only just has begun!
In the near future, I see VR getting more and more perfect, with haptic feedback, porn will be the perfect illusion.

And then I see sex robots ... they also will become better and better, and one final day you can get your perfect real woman directly out of your DNA bio-printer...

Also, virtual reality will once be directly connected to the brain.

Plug-in, and you are in your perfect world. Well, the matrix is coming ...

 

Well an actual simulated reality would be indifferent from real life so that's different then virtual reality porn.

As for the OP, there will always be porn ~ be we don't watch that shit so it doesn't matter.

Waaaay before the internet and not long before the advent of home video, your only option was to go to a stinky movie theater on the bad side of town and beat your meat next to some creepy, sleazy guy.

 

There will always be porn and there should always be porn.
We don't have to consume it but whoever wants should be free to do so.

 

I believe that one day we will transcend pornography; however, I don't think it will happen until after a long period of suffering. Maybe I'm just an optimist, who knows.

 

Porn is such a big market that it will always exist.
There's a huge consumer base for it.
And for example even if all forms of it were made illegal it would still exist, it would just be an underground market instead.
Plus it would be so difficult to make it illegal.
If people want it, people will find a way to get it.
Think of the short lived ban on alcohol in America for example.
I can't remember the state or year this ban was enforced but they found people were still smuggling alcohol around and making their own so they decided to lift the ban and just take in the revenue in taxes as it was such a desireable thing.

 

This guy knows whats up. I do think that sex robots will be the odd man out though. I mean Westworld is cool and all, but we are so close with soon to be VR integrated into our neural network coupled with haptic feedback or just plain neural sensory stimulation, that the sex robot will be skipped.

Aaah yes another tech guy ! - Yeah, right. if the VR is perfect, we don't need reality at all.

On the other side, I see a kind of "bio-printer" coming.
You feed in a DNA sequence, and then an artifical living being comes out ...

Also, for sure the super intelligence is coming, and will outsmart humans and will take rulership.
At this point, the SI will generate perfect women for us in order to hold us pretty much docile.

I wonder if human never lost their bodyhair, then we never have invented clothes, so we all be naked, then the images of our naked body won't arouse any of us (because it's something in common), then there will be no porn, since porn rely on nakedness. So porn most likely is a necessity because we're hairless, also sex is tabboo. SO that is.

 

In Gary Wilson's TEDx video he says that the coolidge effect is responsible for porn. So without it there would be no porn at all. There are too many women out there willing to get involved and it's all because of money. People should stop watching it which in turn would destroy the industry which would mean less money, less chance of women being tempted, etc.

Porn is pure poison it's free it's everywhere and it's destroying millions of lives.

 

That is so scary. Like, in a hypothetical situation, everyone would be brainwashed to just "live in a VR world".
But then who would control "the real world" ?

 

I think it will become worse before fading out. There'd be porn channels on TV. There's already too many sex scenes and nudity on TV. In a few decades there'll be porn on daytime TV.

But eventually porn will fade out. I mean people have realized smoking is bad. Though they don't do anything about it.

After a long time society will realize porn is bad and there will be more porn addiction support groups. Not sure if porn will cease to exist. But there'll be more access to help.

 

We use hats ... ( usually ) our heads are full of hair. What i mean with that, is that maybe humans would end up dressing anyways for "fashion" purposes only, or to attract a sexual mate.

If that was the case, what would make us "have sex" ? We don't have sex thinking consciently "I need to pass my genes for a future generation !", but instead "Something in my brain tells me that girl/boy is attractive !".
What i guess it would happen is that you would get more aroused to the people who standed out from the others ( more muscle for men, bigger breasts for women, etc. )

Let me tell you that there is some porn genres focused on not showing any skin for humiliation purposes

Also, if we had our bodies covered in hair, maybe we would still shave it, for "fashion statement" or to attract a sexual mate, just like clothing. I dunno
