Pr'ly never be an astronaut, so I'll be a fapstronaut.

    Hi, Fapstronauts,

I've definitely never gone more than a month without sexual activity since the first time I fapped. And a month is a stretch. I can specifically remember a month when I was like 18, when I was so upset about stuff going on in life that I didn't fap. Other than that, my times of no-masturbation were when I was consistently sexually active with a partner.

Never truly tried to abstain, but I have put a lot of thought into how masturbation/porn affects my vital energies, perception of sexuality, and tendency towards addictive behavior in general. Since I've rarely gone a week without masturbating, I can see that I'm dependent on the behavior. It's like a secret prison that seems harmless/excusable enough on many levels, but I'd like to try something new.

I'm not sure what to do yet in terms of having a specific goal. Maybe start with a month and go from there? What do you experienced fapstronauts recommend? I'll check out some other posts and resources on the site.

    Peace.

Welcome to NoFap, Andrew. I don't think it matters the length of your challenge; what matters that you are here and want to stop PMO. I challenged myself to 90 days of no PMO. At first it seemed like a lifetime that I'd never be able to obtain but the longer I go the better I feel about myself. I keep journal in Reboot Logs and stay active here in the Forums to help me stay accountable... it works for me. Together we stop PMO and live better lives.

90 days sounds like a great target. I'll shoot for 90 myself. It's been three days so far, I expect it to get challenging for me at some point around a week.

Thanks a lot for the welcome. This is quite an enriching site and I appreciate it.

Just take it "one day at a time"; get through today and worry about tomorrow when I gets here and before you know it you will be at 90 and you will be so wonderful about yourself.
