I'm sure you're all familiar with it. You're laying in bed, or something benign like driving to work, and out of nowhere, a vivid and graphic image or scene flashes through your head. Then another. Then another. Until you almost have to physically shake it out of your head.

It kind of catches you off guard sometimes and you'll go with it for 5, 10, 30 seconds before you realize you're in fantasy land.

So for anyone with experience beyond, say 90 days, does that ever stop? Or at least to a noticeable extent?

I know it's been so ingrained my head due to the young age at which I started consuming the stuff, I wonder if it'll be with me forever. Thanks!

(Dammit. For a moment, I thought I didn't get your Naruto joke.)

In my case, they do. Although I'm not sure when exactly they did though. But instead of images, they're now more often replaced with mental sounds. They're still annoying. Maybe those are an example of the devil's whispers?

I think it has something to do with how the mind rewires itself. Especially regarding to your self perception.

Yes, they stop. I have even stopped noticing women in public mostly, but it depends on the day. And even if someone stands out to me, it doesn't stick with me. I just ignore it easily.

In my case that happened even on day 114. I do not know how to control it either.Whenever I get aware I say to myself this is not what I want. I want something real and meaningful. Sometime it helps sometimes does not. These thoughts are actually linked to something else, they find their way to our minds through television, discussion on some topic related to scenarios about sexual stuuff, through facebook or sometime we just remember it out of the blue. I also want answer to that.

How were you feeling on day 114 compared to you just starting?

The frequency of those popping images in our mind decreases as we progress in our journey. Till day 10 the porn past is haunting in nature. Then till day 30 it still bothers you. After that porn loose its power over us but not completely. When you are abstaining from it for more than three months the frequency of those memories are less but lets be careful when we are alone in home. One other thing if you know this tv show or that movie scene will excite urges in our minds, do not watch it. Or have control on remote change the channel, dodge the bullet. Controlling is discipline and because of discipline we get confidence and self respect.( With every relapse I lost some of that self respect as my long streak is broken recently and now I have started new streak of 1000 days) Do one day at a time. I am also trying to avoid as many triggers in a single particular day. You may get uncomfortable in between long streak especially after wet dreams, those three or four days after wet dream are hard but after that body again get at equilibrium and your streak is unbroken. Be humble, stay strong.
