I feel like when I get really worn out with nonsense-stuff (midterms, stupid labs, car problems, etc) my mind tends to wander. Also after I reach about a week of no PMO, my mind is absolutely racing with thoughts about PMO...What's a good way to take a "cold shower" (mentally), when there are no cold showers around?
Try to find comfort in the fact, that all cravings will go away. No emotion can last forever. Go out on a walk. Observe the world around you.
If you can go outside and go on a walk, that's one of the best ways to go. But if it's too cold outside, a treadmill can do the same thing for you. If none of that is possible, just jumping jacks and exercises in general will help deliver some dopamine to your brain, which porn usually delivers.
Yeah, taking a walk or a bike ride is definitely a good thing. You can promise yourself not to think of any fantasies during the walk. A small goal like that is easier to handle than 'I have to quit PMO forever' and it seems a lot less overwhelming.
