4 days in, going crazy and confused

    I'm married, 32 yrs old, been on porn for 20 years. I told my wife about my addiction two days ago, she is by far the BEST wife out there. She is completely understanding and VERY supportive. I told her I felt I needed to abstain for an O for 30 days for my first ever reboot in my life. I have NEVER gone 30 days, much less a week in 18 years...I'm a bit nervous. Anyway, I'm confused on what to do. I don't know If I should suppress all my sexual thoughts, even the ones I have towards my wife. I feel like I need that 30 days of no orgasims, but what do I do with my though life? Yesterday I had blue balls for half the day even though I wasn't turned on at all. Today I'm horny as he'll and would hump a freaking door knob. ;) any advice would be helpful. I am feeling pressure and anxiety in my chest as I type this post!
    Edit: my problem is PMO that I'm trying to stop.

    One thing a friend suggested is lifting weights, it helped a lot!

    Is your goal no PMO, no MO, or just no O? With me a big part of the addiction is the viewing of porn and fapping to it. It's the dopamine pathways in your brain that have to weaken in order to be able to start kicking the addiction.

    Having sex with my wife might cause the so called chaser affect but I don't think I'm strengthening the porn pathways.

    I don't know if this is making sense but that is how I look at it. Just as long as your not viewing or masturbating to porn your good.

    Try changing your schedule around, if you usually do it the same time, change times, change places where you do it. Also try to schedule things to do in its place. As Narf_44 suggested exercise is the best thing to do.

    I have a problem with PMO, I want to stop that as well as MO so I can actually have sex and enjoy it with my wife. I want to be completely PMO and MO free and from what I have been reading, no "o" for 30days is a good way to start the reboot of my brain. After that I plan to slowly get back into cuddling, fondling, and then eventually having sex, but not right away. I feel I need to more or less date my wife again and teach my body what sex really is and not just seeing her or any other girl as an object. I feel that if I continue to have sex during my reboot process, it will just prolong the process. 20 years of over stimulation, MO 1-2 times per day, probably 4-6 days a week and sex mixed in there too. I have NO desire to ever get back into porn, and am starting to see the effects of PIED. :(

    Sounds like you have a plan and are on the right track. No "O" is a bitch (ask me how I know), but it does seem to be crucial in rebooting properly and efficiently. Good luck to you!

    Day 5 now, no "O" still. Doing good and keeping my goal on my mind 24/7. It's funny, but I was starting to have a sexual dream last night, and my subconscious actually woke me up out of it screaming no!!!! I have to pee all the time, and the past two days I had partial blue balls for part of the day. :confused: I'm trying to stay busy, because boredom is what sets me off down that dark road of PMO. I put a PMO and MO spreadsheet on my fridge for some motivation that I won't have to put any other numbers on it than zero so my wife doesn't see it. I will keep you updated.
