Hey guys I was on 18th day of no pmo..and i relapsed,,,,,i had strong urges,,i watched porn,,,now those pictures are not getting away from my mind,, i am thinking of it again and again,,not able to control my urges,,,,please help me overcome this!
I'm dealing with bad urges as well and I'm only on day 12. You've already come a long way from where you started and a single relapse hasn't set you as far back as you might think. Whatever you do, do not go on a PMO binge as that is the one thing that will undo all the progress you made.
I can understand your pain. But dont worry, we can over come it together. I think planning your day activities well and keeping your self occupied can help next time. Did it happen in evening? Can you keep yourself busy for 1-2 hours in those time - may be by cooking/going to gym/library or some volunteer activity?
It is capability, Some people go long and some go short period of abstaining. last year i used to abstain 30-40 days. but After sevier attack by porn on the early month of this year Now i can abstain 13-14 days. we need to push beyond border line.
The best way is to avoid the computer as much as possible, no recreational searching. If you need to look something up, do it and then remove yourself completely. The best thing about smartphones are the vast array of apps that can literally replace what you would normally search the internet for, weather, sports, games etc. Keep fighting!!
Hey bro Relapsing is not a big deal if you can move on quickly and start over again. Just don't Binge. Good luck!
The most important thing we need to remeber every time when we relapse, is to learn something new from it. Think about why you relapsed, what are the things that make you prone to relapse time after time and change them. You fail only if you don't learn anything from it and keep doing the same mistakes over and over again. Learn to Fail forward.
I have relapsed by thinking of porn scenes that I have seen in the past. I then seek one of them out again thinking that this will be it. I am sucked back in again. Rebooting requires more than just abstinence from actually viewing porn. We need to stop thinking about and imagining porn. If your mind is thinking about porn, you need to think about something else. Turn on the baseball game, phone a friend, watch a funny movie, read the newspaper. As time passes, the easier the process becomes - so I am told.
