Hi I'm 16 years old at highschool. My life is completely destroyed because of porn and masturbation. I have no friends, depressed, can't tell the girl I like that i like her and i can't mix with people. I decided to stop masturbation and porn and have a new life, after 4 days i fuckin' did it again. I'm extremely disappointed now, I harte myself. Every time i try to stop and recover i come back again!. What should i do?

Relapse is a part of this challenge man. This problem cannot be dealt wjth immediately. Try to imagine yourself as a speeding truck, on the road of porn and masturbation, you go full speed then you realize it's the wrong road, you try to stop but your speed really high. You cannot stop a truck immediately right? It needs to slow down first before coming to a complete stop. Reflect on your relapse. What triggered you? What do you need to do to avoid that trigger?
Try doing the cold showers, new hobby, workout, meditation techniques. It's all over the place. You just need to find the right threads.
Stay strong. Don't stress over this relapse. Pick yourself up and stand again.

Just like what I do! But I don't think that it's to avoid the urges. I think that it's for me to make my self better!

Man you gotta understand porn is a immensely powerful thing. It's able to make severe changes in our brain reward mechanisms. My first advice would to go get educated about the neuroscience behind DOPAMINE. What triggers it and so.
Learn and then analyse how your brain is reacting when it don't get what it wants.

    Keep trying.

No one said it would be easy, did they? If they did, I believe they may have misrepresented. But the rewards are certainly worth the effort! I only wish that I had stumbled upon a community like this at your age. You have the chance to make your young-adulthood so much more pure and fulfilling. And guess what the best part is: you've already started getting better! Those 4 days aren't lost; they still count toward making you better. Yeah, you have to start your count over, but in the grand scheme of things, recovery is what matters. And you are already headed in the right direction.

Keep your head up, and take it one day at a time. Don't worry about last Sunday. Or last week. Don't worry about next week, next month, or a few years from now. Only focus on right here, right now. I would suggest not even counting the days (*gasp* I know, right?). That way you can be more focused on today. You can set up a counter as the rest of us on this thread have (you can click on any of ours to get to the page to set it up), so it can do the counting for you. I have mine in my signature (copy and paste the URL into your signature) so that when someone asks me how long I have gone, I just have to pull up my most recent post, and there it is (I have no idea otherwise). I have just focused on one day at a time each and every day for the past 4 months or so. I have found that, for me at least, that is the key. That and taking advantage of this great community.

I also think changing either your environment or your habits is a good idea. Especially early in your reboot. There is a thread about it somewhere on the forums (sorry, I can't remember which one).

I wish you the greatest success in your journey and sincerely hope to see you around the forums. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you need anything.

Try again, you only had 4 days anyway. You are young, youll make it just keep trying.
I know how BS highschool can be, but just know it wont last forever.

  8. Because you already chose to fight the addiction that is one great step.
No one did it just at once.

There was no basketball player who won vast majority of matches without working practising and so on
There was no doctor who became a doctor just like that. He had to study hard.

No engineer became an engineer without studying math and mechanics very hard, despite the flaws.

No olympic player won a gold or silver without a hard work and a proper mindset.
And no fapstronaut overcame pmo addiction without learning from relapse.

Dont blame yourself for it. Look at it from the "third person's view" observe what happened what caused it and so on, so you dont slip again on the same mitake. Good luck ;)

Talk to your parents. You are 16 and need someone to monitor your internet usage. Don't be embarrassed. If you were my kid I'd want to help you.

Yep. That's what relapses do. I recently relapsed after 7 months clean (I wont go into all the details here, but there were some preceding events). I felt so horrible it has taken me a while to decide to come back to the community.

But the part I want to focus on is the first part of your sentence: "I will keep trying." That's the part that matters. If you really mean that, the rest of it doesn't matter so much. As long as you keep improving yourself, it is a victory.

The title of my journal (which is in sore need of an update) is To Continued Improvement. That is to remind me that this journey is about IMPROVING myself, not PERFECTING myself. The same goes for you. And remember: relapse is not defeat, it is merely a bump in the road. You don't need to get back on the horse because you didn't even fall off, you just stumbled a bit. Now catch your footing and continue on down the road, brother.

We are all here to support you. As the others have said above, it is possible and you can do it. Believe in yourself.

    To continued improvement....
