Hey guys, been doing a lot of reading lately.

On my second attempt at 90 days, now is day 8. Its around that time where the penis feels "fuller" and "heavier" in general which means sensitivity is temporarily spiking. I know that around another week or 2 from now I will enter a flatline.

But I did some reading and it looks like edging is considered to be equal to if not worse than MO because of the dopamine buildup that comes from being aroused and handling your cock surpasses the dopamine from MOing.

So I just realized that I've been mildly but obsessively edging the last few days.

Every time I get the chance I go into a bathroom and just shake my junk around in a stall until I get hard just because I can and also just to feel good. I think im justifying this as a voyeuristic fantasy... and to "remind" myself what it felt like to be 15 and confident as a rock.

I don't actually edge to the point of Ming without ejaculating. I just do enough to get a hard on and leave.

But I realized that the very fact that I'm getting pleasure out of this and that I'm doing it almost constantly means my brain is getting rewarded with dopamine and thats why I keep doing it.

How do I kill the need for a dopamine spike?

That is the key question. This sustained dopamine from edging is a huge impediment to rewiring and drastically increases your time needed to reboot.

I've got a bit of a theory on this one, but there are lots of articles that do a better job of explaining things than I could. Here's a quote:
Now for my theory. You are used to a high level of dopamine. You are now on day eight of semi-dopamine withdrawal. However, the more important thing in this initial surge (that is, before the flatline kicks in) is that your body is accustomed to frequent PMO, and the sudden halting of release means that although dopamine continues to flow from edging, your body is expecting release and therefore building up testosterone. When the release doesn't happen, it creates an imbalance with your oxytocin levels. Most guys with PMO, IMO (kinda funny, I just noticed that the acronym for "in my opinion" looks like... something else) suffer from a deficiency of bonding/caring/nurturing type interaction, and so recovery is not just a matter of cutting dopamine, but also overcoming a deficit of other hormones.
Basically, if you have that "fuller" and "heavier" feeling, that's the testosterone taking charge of your brain. There are loads of websites that discuss easy ways to boost oxytocin release; just google it and make it a plan to try some.
