    Hi guys,

So, as you can see on my bar, It's been 200 days since I've decided to remove PMO from my life. I feel so great for achieving this. I feel so much relief and freedom that I finally am not the slave of my desires anymore.

It actually sickens me when I now think of those old depressing days when I was being pulled along into continuous cycle of PMO. Where I felt deep regret, despair, worthless and helpless afterwards.

So praise and thanks be to God who guided me and helped me. Thanks to all of you guys for your support and comments of inspiration. And I hope my story and my journey gives you guys hope and motivation. The fact that all of us from different backgrounds, beliefs, faiths come here to battle this is in itself a proof that this act is nothing but a filthy and destructive disease. So lets all battle it with determination and persistence. And yes it is possible to win this war, as many have won it as can be seen on this forum and youtube.

    Lets do this! :)

Congratulations! Now that is an accomplishment.

I'm new here but before I joined, I have been free for 21 days. This has been so hard. Any tips?

You are right. It is not easy. It is hard specially the first few months. Just like how quitting cigarettes or drugs is. But it is damn possible. You just have be patient with it. Is there tips to make it easy? yes, here are some tips that will make your journey much much easier.

    Tips:
    1) If you've spare time, fill it up with a new hobby which you like or take up a new hobby. Nothing beats having a job so if you don't have one, find a job.
    2) Once you are a few weeks PMO free, it is very hard for you to go straight to PMO out of no where. There are steps that lead to it. Avoid those. Those are graphic or arousing pictures/ vidoes on fb, youtube or internet in general. Keep your hands of your private parts unless needed.
    3) Have cold showers. As they kill raging hormones instantly for a short period of time.
    4) Spend more time with family and friends. Socialise more often.

Thank you. I appreciate that you took time to respond.

It all makes sense and I must put all my determination into this. I've been told I'm stubborn so I am going to apply that to this. Haha

I would add to conqueror's list Meditation. In my case is the main complement for my reboot. Meditation relaxes my mind and reduces urges significantly.

Yup, anything that keeps you calm and conscious. It may include meditation, prayers, contemplation about the life, the world etc. Aside from that doing good to others, little acts of charity also keeps one at peace.

Once I look back at the old days of PMO, I see a lot of things changed. You see, I had 99% of the time felt worthless, despair, helpless, rock bottom after PMO. In other words, I would go through those feeling several times a week. I feel sorry for myself, when I realise that I had to go through those feelings every time. (because this is considered as an ugly sin in my faith)

Although, quitting PMO doesn't remove other problems from life, but it does give you more courage to try and solve them, unlike distracting yourself constantly through PMO.

So over all, it does reduce the negative sufferings, gives one more confidence, self esteem, self belief and self control. However it will happen slowly and subtly that you will only realise it when you compare it with the old days.

wow! How did you do it? I just joined today after PMOing again for the umpteenth time. Please tell what helped you? I need help.

To be honest what helped me most personally is my religion. My best counsel and source of encouragement was the Quran. My tool of hope was my sincere prayers. My best friend was/is God.

Aside from that, I knew that I had to quit this one day. I mean I'm 22 now I wouldn't wanna live my entire life PMOing. Then what will be my worth? Hell no! I had to quit PMO well before marriage so I would marry clean. So that desire was also there.

Yes before my last reboot I also failed for the upteenth time. At one time I stayed away from NoFap. Infact I recommend you guys that once you have started staying free from PMO for a while, don't come to NoFap often. Aim is that you wanna forget it.

My recommnedation to you and specially those who are in their initial stages are to follow the tips I posted on my second post in this page. Specially tip no1. Get busy. Find a job. Get into what you like. Discover and research things. Research religions, the purpose of life, how the universe came about and why. Read some great books be it a scientific book, a religious book such as the Quran or the Bible or any great book that will cause you to ponder and think.

Stay strong and you can remove PMO from you life too.

    Let's Conquer this! :)
