Hi, I have had this issue since puberty and have never gone just a few weeks without fapping. Now I am 47 and need some extra support. Porn somewhat of an issue. Looking for help without getting too much into the details!!! Glad I am here. I'm looking for help and if you can provide some support --I promise I will do the same when I have some time under my belt. Thanks brothers. Peace out. Scott

Keep strong. I'm 39 and been faping prob since 1991. Doctors and psychologists say it's no prob, but I say BS! It's defenitely affected my relationships in the past. I'm 8 days strong and I can't remember ever going this long. It's not easy, but nothing worth while is.

I'm in the same boat as you scottfree. I'm 48 and have been doing this for a long time. I'm on a 14day streak right now and maintaining a positive outlook about it. I suggest going to the brain on porn website. It explains exactly what is happening chemically. Understanding helped me immensely. It helped me get this far. Also keep reading these posts. There are many guys out there in similar situations.
    Good luck

Scott free, I've found that telling "your story" is scary and a wonderful release. I am 44 and have been 30+ years with PMO, and to be able to speak openly has started the healing process. Also, what's helped me is erasing bookmarks etc... to porn when I'm strong, and redirecting that energy to having sex with my wife (not an option for everyone, I know). It's amazing how many guys have identical stories. At least we don't have to be alone in this journey. Good luck!

Hey Scott, another new guy here, also 47.

First saw a porn magazine when I was 11; I can still recall the mind-blowing effect it had. Been chasing that buzz ever since, but with steadily diminishing returns. These days the returns barely register.

I'm like the old UK anti-heroin advert from the 1980s. "Nah, it's no problem, I can handle it", said the addict, when it was 100% obvious from the state of him that he couldn't. I thought I was doing okay, but denial is a powerful thing. I can't handle it any more. (Porn, not heroin!)

If I had a dollar for each time I've deleted my bookmarks! (And then the colossal time-waste of re-bookmarking). Ridiculous.

But now hoping for better things. Thanks to everyone here for the inspiration.

    scott free,

I'm 42, and not looking at internet porn has been one of the hardest things I've had to do, but knowing there are other men out there with the same problem who are getting better has helped. Talking to other men on the forum helps, too. And if you relapse, forgive yourself and keep trying. It's about progress, not perfection.
