So I was just prescribed zoloft but will not begin taking it until next Week. I have text book symptoms, some of which I've had for quite some time. The more intense symptoms are newer and I feel are a result of this disgusting habit I picked up 5ish years ago and have been attempting to stop completely for 1.5ish years. Does anyone have experience with zoloft in the context of non-pmo and pmo?

    Thanks!
    -Mike

What are your symptoms? I would suggest not to take SSRIs. Find a talk therapist. Psychologists are quick to prescribe drugs as they don't have time to listen & disentangle issues of patients. They just want to maximise earning

So I have been talking to a therapist for a little over a month now. I start a group therapy in a few weeks. Things have come to light through my therapy and there are things that definitely need to be addressed/worked on. This was prescribed through a VA clinical prescription nurse and I will basically be paying nothing. I too am aware, from both second hand testimony and firsthand experience that the medical industry (and many of the individuals working within in it) are FAR from altruistic. Concerning the VA prescriptions, I am not sure how the profit system works. I have never taken any meds and I would like to never have to. I remember seeing one of those incredibly expensive well made pharmacy commercials the other day making light of side effects of one pill so... TAKE THIS OTHER ONE. Yay everyone wins and is happy! (According to the commercial). That just made me laugh... Not to downplay anyone's legitimate health concerns and those instances when people may actually need medication. But yes I would like to avoid taking anything I do not need to. Have you or anyone you know had personal experience with zoloft?

I was prescribed SSRIs in 2022 during my severe fLatline. Never took them as they will cause another different withdrawal spiral & quite nasty one. If u can tell me ur symptoms, I can tell u if they will resort on their own by natural means

I took SSRIs in the past. They lower libido and make it easier to stay away from PMO. I had moderately severe side effects when on boarding and when discontinuing them.

Symptoms: anhedonia, no motivation, brain fog, can concentrate/absorb information for only short periods, general anxiety, panic attacks (some lasting upwards of 4-6 hours), insomnia, bizarre and dark dreams/nightmares, loss of appetite, clammy skin, diarrhea for like a month now, exhausted after only walking a half mile. I eat very healthy and have been in great shape the majority of my life. I was a personal trainer professionally for about a decade. I hit my last 18-day streak while getting Covid and it was a nightmare. Stopped Caffeine at the same time. Also stopped smoking weed, which I only did at night time and only for a month to see if it would help me sleep. Within 3 days, I was sleeping through the night and waking up at 5am without an alarm. It was unreal. Still wanted to stop smoking so I did. So, I reduced caffeine significantly (.5 to maybe 1 serving half-caff a day), quit pre-bed smoking all while getting an almost month-long Covid spell that was an absolute nightmare. After Covid went away and I relapsed at day 18, I became an empty shell of myself. One of the defining characteristics of my personality has been my very type-A task-oriented, set goals and timers and get-things-done spirit. Currently pursuing a comp sci degree at an accelerated rate while teaching myself the necessary math. Yeah I was going absolutely nuts. I had maintained this for over 5 years (my comp-sci is my second degree). That drive has completely gone and I feel flat and empty and like part of myself has left my body.

these are absolutely PMO symptoms -- I can say this confidently because I have had exact same symptoms. SSRIs are just going to numb them for a while not cure them. You have to go monk-mode for 6 months at least -- I am confident u will see 80-90% improvement in all of these symptoms.

Nice to here. Monk mode is bacisally the life style I want to commit to for the rest of my life. I have been, it is just a matter of hitting the 6mo + mark. Thank you for the insight. This is encouraging. Many of you long-timer pioneering individuals have had a priceless impact on the lives of those who have come after you. Your personal anecdotal testimonies and conversations regarding your experiences you have already gone through, helping those who are following in your footsteps are invaluable and give use strength. Thanks again.

no issues, I first started rebooting in 2017 and failed multiple times despite very long streaks, as this addiction is VERY POWERFUL. I am sure u will be better off without SSRIs. Just go monk-mode for 6 months plus. If u still get the symptoms with same intensity then u may again touch-base with doctor. I just feel natural lifestyle changes - meditation, exercise, intermittent & prolonged fasting, less screens, no social media, sleeping by 10PM, roaming out, spending time with family & friends in real world --- these will help much more.

well if monk mode is what you wanna do man, the zoloft will help. It really lowered my libido and killed my urges. Was able to focus that time on more productive things

frankly, unless you need it, would not depend on meds like that.
