Can't make it past 1 day right now, can you guys give me tips.

    Things has been extremely stressful for me in my life lately, and I notice that the more I dwell on my stress, the more it fuels my porn use. I want to quit, I want to be the best man I can be and I know if I keep doing this I won't ever be that man. All I really want to do is achieve at least 2 weeks, things usually get easier for me around that mark, but right now even 1 day is a chore. I'm not complaining guys I'm willing to put in the work, it's just that my willpower is shit considering I am using it all to even live normal life since that's already very hard for me due to circumstances happening to me as of late. How would you guys cope with an extreme mentally challenging situation whilst also having to battle porn, even though using porn makes you feel better short term, long term it's ruining your mental health?. This is what I constantly think about, using porn is bad for me, I know that, it's ruining my self confidence and pushing me further away from my goals, but when I use it, I temporarily forget my pain. I'm not going to go into detail as to what I have going on because I might get banned like last time but it's something truly horrible. Any bit of assistance would be appreciated everyone, I also have a woman that I truly love and our sex life is great, I don't want to betray her any further by doing this, especially since she always tries so hard to make me happy, I want to do the same for her, and staying addicted to porn will not let me achieve that. I'm scared man, I want to be happy again, and looking back I achieved so much in life, I even thought I kicked this habit forever because I was on decent streaks and the beginning of this year, all I can do is hope that in the future I will be able to defeat this, as long as I don't give up on myself.

    Well, first and foremost, my advice won't be a complete fix, but it can help give you a push. From my experience, when one has a habit they find to be unhealthy the only way to get rid of it is to replace it with a new habit. Now, this can be a good habit or a bad habit. The new habit you pick up is entirely up to you, but you must make sure you commit to it until it's second nature like brushing your teeth every day.

    For me, I decided to replace porn with exercise. Any time I felt myself wanting porn, I scheduled a workout session. Whether it's the same day or the next morning, I committed to it. My "sexual" energy was then depleted in my workout and I felt a sense of accomplishment that created momentum for me to stay away from porn.

    One last tip, and this is extremely important, get rid of all pornographic material around you and force yourself to stop looking at porn, watching porn, or even thinking of porn. The more attention you give your habit, the more you strengthen its power over you.

    Thanks for the advice bro, I used to exercise regularly, 4 times a week but I have been slacking a lot since I'm going through all of this. I am planning to stay out of my room entirely and force myself to start back working out. I also want to start back meditating and journaling consistently, slow progress is better than none. I'm going to hit a workout now, will post regularly here to keep myself accountable.

    I just got done earlier saying how I don’t actually know how to begin s streak but if you’re desperate, here you go. Everything I’ve got is small, but add up the small things and it might be enough to get you through.

    Exercise is good. Do it regularly, and the effect on mental health is on a delayed release but lasts all day, rather than a few hours. So get in a good workout every day, include a rest day, and you will be doing a lot better. I run to exhaustion, ghat seems to work better than pushups. Something about elevated heart rate for an extended period of time, probably.

    Get rid of the negativity. Cut out negative people, stop watching/listening to news, cut out YouTube or TikTok or any other place where you get fed negativity. If you’re thinking “I need that because-“ no you don’t. You need porn out more than you need that garbage in, I swear you think it’s just decompressing, inconsequential entertainment but it’s really rotting out your soul and making you feel like you need to jerk it.

    Ditch your phone or laptop or whatever it is you use to look at porn. Don’t just not waste your time on one app, get rid of the whole thing. Turn the computer off, put the phone in another room. “But people won’t be able to reach me.” So what? That’s how everyone lived in 1999, and it was okay. Use your phone at designated times to accomplish designated tasks, then put it away. It’s a game changer.

    Eat your vegetables, get your full eight hours of sleep, stop it with the Columbian nose candy already. Take care of your body.

    Hello Aspect, I'm a newb but have been battling with here and there success for years and years. If I were looking to just get past one day, which could set you up for a good run, I'd pretend my phone was lost or damaged and leave it in the car or somewhere inaccessible but secure. Then make sure the internet connection is down or the computer is not an option.

    You are right bro, no more excuses. I guess all I wanted was for people to relate to, it gives me hope knowing that you guys are fighting just like me. I managed one day, my next goal is 3 days

    If a single day seems like too much of a challenge, focus on getting through the next hour. Or even just the next ten minutes. And then the next. The urges will pass whether you give in to them or not.
