What end of flatline feels like? My experience after compulsive porn use & excessive masturbation

    Age : 32 years
Started watching porn around 16 year old, but funny as it may seem, i didnt know what masturbation was. Back in those times, media & high-speed internet was extremely limited. I just got my new PC and maybe just as teen inquisitiveness, landed up on erotic video.
My first experience with masturbation was at age 20 years. I still watched erotic/bluefilms/porn occasionally till age 20. The things escalated when I got 1st mobile (which was a very basic smartphone, with a small screen) & then i started downloading porn & consumption skyrocketed (this happened at age 19)
Started masturbation - some friend taught me ( i know sounds silly, but i really never knew what it meant) & porn quite regularly.
So porn started at age 17 approx (year 2007) & masturbation around age 20. (year 2010)
I first started to realise the deadly poison that porn & masturbation was in year 2017.
Out of nowhere, i got my 1st full blown panic attack. My mind just went blank & acute phobia/paranoia gripped me. I was at my office. Had always excelled in academia & completed my engineering followed by 2 year MBA.
From then, all HELL broke loose.
Anxiety, panic, depression, DP/DR - all happened. I didnt even knew what was happening with me & honestly never linked all this to my dopamine screwing due to porn & masturbation
I did my 1st ever brain MRI scan (in 2017), met neurologist & all came out clean. I still couldnt explain what i felt like, until i met a psychotherapist. I slowly began to improve. Started exercise, meditation(this was a game-changer). Luckily, never consumed SSRIs - as suggested by some future Psychologists to me.
I finally came to realise, all this was not just some random event & strongly correlated with my porn use & excessive masturbation. I often just jerked till climax but didnt ejaculate & continued this trip for hours at an end. No wonder, i was in for a very dark time to come
After quitting porn & masturbation - around year 2019 or so, for more a year - the benefits really showed up (no KIDDING & no exaggeration)
    End of flatline :
    1. You just feel like a child once again - back to those beautiful school days when eveyrthing was so simple !
    2. You just feel happy. All the dopamine whacks on brain, when abstained for a long time, really re-adjust the brain parts.
    3. I still have minor anxiety, but it is 99% sorted out compared to year 2019. DP/DR, panic, depression, mania feels --- all gets resolved. I bet you. Just quit porn totally & avoid masturbation & any sort of semen discharge (incl sex) for a long period.

Now with all these years of PMO & then quitting it, there is not an inch of doubt in me that most psychological illnesses in young gen are caused by dopamine dysregulation ( as i never did drugs, i dont know how they feel like, but PMO surely is among the toppers in the list of dopamine whackers)

This post is mainly meant for young people out there, last teens or early 20s.
Now is the best time to quit this. It gets very very very UGLY with extensive usage & nervous & mental afflications are beyond description --- only one who has undergone it can fully understand)
    Happy to answer any questions.

Yes, now the proof is beyond doubt on internet - whacking our dopamine esp with PMO, drugs etc causes neurological problems chiefly anxiety related. Keep up with the abstinence, each day gets better. Sometimes we may not notice, but subtle changes in brain show up someday as big changes

...well...I don't know that this is also for real young ppl...don't agree there...but into my 1st month of no PMO haha.feels good. However, now that i can focus better,I see myself..that I'm not really that bad body-wise. That I can appreciate myself a little haha.Maybe when I was into my addiction then,I would look at myself in the mirror and felt that i HAD to do it.Damn...I was in denial or something haha.I do feel better though.I still have a skateboarder body form even though I haven't skated in a long while, but I'm now working with me.....my addiction...I dont't give a flips ass how old one is...it is possible to make a change..for the better.

Mate... thanks for sharing. This is almost exactly the same story as mine. I was on a 70 something day streek and then had a minor operation, didn't quite for feel the same afterwards and I massively flipped out one day and had an intense panic attack. DPDR extreme anxiety and depression followed.

I've struggled committing to nofap as it's taken me many years to believe that it was the answer; but I believe it now. I'm about 5 months into it. Had sex a few times but always go back into a flatline if we go more than once in a night.

The DPDR is bad still and so is it anxiety; I can't face air travel or even high-speed trains. My anxiety is just too high at the minute and I don't really fancy holidays anyway as the thought of it doesn't excite me that much. Thanks so much for posting. It's so glad to hear that you have recovered from this horrible stuff.

keep at it. There is no doubt that it will improve. I had extreme anxiety and panic. Just don't lose semen in any form & no porn. Just see your results after at least 4 to 6 months.

When did you feel ready for sex? Because a few times I've felt ready and then I keep ending up in flatline after. So annoying.

restrained myself until the severe flatline ended. Had sex couple of times later (although non-penetrative but did involve ejaculation). But for me, any episode of excess or multiple discharge later on, followed by periods of melancholy, regret & loss of liveliness. It may vary for others. But any episode of multiple discharges within a few days, always dropped my mood & triggered anxiety

Definitely experienced panic. Rare but it did.

Due lack of knowning that i was flatlining lol. I thought the shakes and trembling came from me which it didnt. Big time flu like symptoms+ getting tired after one step. But it resolved now and comes for a few hours and hops off.

    Its worth it.

Did you have genital numbness during your " Flatline " ?

    Did you experience anhedonia ?

    Cheers.

No genital numbness but yes anhedonia happened. My major issues were neurological. But after long abstinence, I definitely experienced harder & stronger erections

But now you dont feel traces of a typical flatline with those haul of neurochemicals trying to Rebalance? because you can clearly feel the difference between a bad day like losing your dog or a shit day where you're flatlining.

I've had both. Gential numbless went away finally! This is strange as last time I went hard mode libido came back but numbness was still there; now it's the other way around.

Anhedonia I've struggled with big time. It has gone away a few times but comes back very fast when I relapse. On a long streak, it seems to fade gradually and then goes fast when you are waking with great morning wood.
