anyone notice the internet getting worse?

Yea, well, I think the moral fabric of Western countries has pretty much completely deteriorated at this point. There is no more honor and virtue in day to day life anymore... its all about making profit now.

Even look at the average workweek for Americans. In the past, it used to be normal to work 5 days, 40 hours a week. Also, a lot of places would be closed on Sundays and also holidays I think stores would be closed.

But now, people work closer to 50 hours a week and everything is open all the time. Some stores are even open 24 hours a day! Also, the whole online business is another thing... the Internet is open 24/7.

A huge madness has come across Western nations... an obsession with profit above all else! and nothing to feed the soul of the people..

 

Definitely. This is why I quit ALL social media. It is just too difficult to avoid the garbage. I even stopped going on Ebay because it was too easy to find smut for sale on it.

I think google has improved, when I got internet at 14, it was really easy so see epstein stuff, necro stuff, scat, bdsm, zoo.
I honestly don't know how am I still a straight male, for all the unholy things I have seen in the teenage years and the last sexual content in my life at the moment are like 3 chicks on cb.. they used to grind my gears, but recently, like past 2 weeks, I lost a big chunk of interest since I had 3 months with no orgasm.
Also I have seen violent stuff like decapitation in the iraq war.
I have no social media at all and I don't watch tv and got recommended family guy clips recently... they are all sexual lol

It's very noticeable. The internet is FAR worse now than it was a decade or so ago and in almost every possible way.

 

It's your own algorithm. Stuff that you watch leads the algorithm to recommend certain videos. That content has been around forever. You can try to change it by just clicking "don't recommend" on those vids or deleting stuff in your watch history that's leading the algorithm to makes those recommendations.

 

If you are from US, you could join an amish community. Or just move to Alaska where the entertaiment is outside. I wish I had those options in my country.

 

Indeed it does. Now with some AI tools, world is becoming even more like Skinner Box.

 

Man, I do some guided yoga on YT and the sh!t that's coming up my recommendations, I can see it easily leading to a relapse if I slip.

I'm not sure I have! Considering YouTube, the only thing is that a year or two ago, there were a lot of scam comments with links that would lead to nudes. They're gone again, though, fortunately. Other than that, content I see is mostly gaming related. On Facebook and Imgur, and sometimes in ads, I see rather questionable stuff, but I'm not sure if this used to be different... I honestly can't remember. I don't think there was something as ridiculous as Hero Wars around 10 years ago, but Hero Wars is in a league of its own...

 

I remeber several episodes when I was watching a youtube video and then the author shows a graph about their audience. The thing is, every time >90% or even >95% of their audience were men. That got me thinking how easy is for the "algorithm" to predict my sex and probably my age, and sexual orientation. But we know this social media algorithms are far ahead form simple compairsons of pepole's preferences. So I can asume they know for the way of your behaviour when you are a straight male with accuracy, even if yopu didn't provide that data. And they use that information to show you this explicit, semi-p*rn content, becuase we are biologically programed to be drawn by "curves". All of this just for keeping us cosuming, that is their final goal.

I use Youtube in my phone that is the only social network i use. Appart from thigs like whatsapp and telegram that I only use for comunication. Well I discovered If I dont have any google account linked to my phone I can reset my youtube app to an almost "naive state". And the algotithm will be driven by the first things I search. I just have to delete the "cache" in the app settings, I use Android btw. Currently I'm tryng to watch just educational content. And for the "shorts" the content creators of these educatinal contents also make those. Even if they hate that format because they know the app promotes that.

I strongly advise you my friend, you should delete youtube completely. Just download educational videos I'm doing like that.
