I feel like everyone's better at this than me.

Like the title says. I look at posts, and it seems like just about everyone-even people who've been addicted longer than me-is doing SO much better than I EVER could. Anyone else have this feeling, or is it just a survivorship-bias kinda deal?

I can relate to this, it’s just negative thinking. I’m someone who has only achieved 1 week once, I struggle getting past 2-3 days, but I’m getting periods where I’m getting porn under control more and more, and for longer durations, so I am making progress. You just gotta keep your head up and fix any mistakes along your journey, always try to understand how urges work, and also keeping track of things that cause you to relapse.

As you gain more knowledge, you will get better and better at this, you need to prioritize the addiction and that you want to overcome it, go day by day, don’t lol at the big streaks, just try to get to 1 day, then 2 and 3, then 5 then 7 then 10 etc etc.

Knowledge, experience. I was where you were once. 16 years ago. It's called hitting rock bottom and really wanting to change. Even then it took me another 8 before I completed a true reboot and felt better. Sometimes we think we want to change but our subconscious is not ready for some reason. It sounds like you are almost (or actually are) to the point of being so miserable and fed up that you are going to get really serious about drastic changes and developing new habits. It takes hard daily work and developing those new replacement habits to actually change. Then the long streaks just happen, because porn has lost its power in your life. Get pissed or breakdown and cry about the toll it is taking on you if that helps, and make the drastic changes.
