Question about fantasies

    I’m struggling to stop falling into sexual fantasy- particularly at bedtime. I am so sick of rotating them in my mind. Any suggestions?

  4. Late night is also the worst time for me. Here's what helps me. Have something nearby you can quickly re-focus your mind on - like crossword puzzles, a good book, a guided meditation you can listen to, etc. Try and do some physical exercise earlier in the day, even if it's just a walk around the neighborhood. Consider trying melatonin a couple hours before you plan to go to sleep. If all else fails sign onto nofap and start commenting on threads until you get sleepy.

    A few months ago I realized I used to fantasize before going to sleep and sometimes when waking up, and I also noticed that this was contributing to be more tempted to relapse. Now I am not struggling with those fantasizes anymore, and the thing is that I chose to think in something else, because that was a custom for me, before going to sleep I had to think in something hot in order to fall asleep, so I changed that and along some other factors I can I say it has helped me.

    I’ve seen that since I’ve not looked at porn almost 50 days I turn to fantasy. Porn helped me sleep some nights. Now I can’t sleep worth anything. I was awake a lot last night and drifted into and out of a recurring fantasy that leaves me feeling as ashamed as if I’d PMO’ed.

    I know, it is tricky and it feels good.

    What I mean is, try to exchange those fantasies with other thoughts. Thoughts strong enough to take the place of sex thoughts, for example future plans, people you want to get to know, the places you want to visit, the goals you want to achieve. Dreaming is healthy (as long as your dreams are not harmful), because it is the begging of success. Of course if you want to reach success, you can´t just stay on your dreams and goals, but that is where the thing begin. Remember, big things began with weird ideas.

    well... looks like your thoughts are very sexually related.. this will require some deep-diving into the very core of who you are in order to find a remedy for this situation

    all I can say is, that the best thing is to not think sexual thoughts.. even thinking sexual thoughts and fantasizing drains your energy! keep your energy good and strong!

    There are so many resources available that are dedicated to lust/porn/sex addiction. CSAT therapy, SA 12 step program, podcasts, websites, books, articles...the list goes on and on.

    This is not an impossible fight to win. You CAN stop. You can beat this addiction and get a win, but you have to WORK for it! Use the resources available to you to gelp you win. Otherwise, don't expect to beat this addiction.

    So ultimately, the question to be asked is this: Do you want it badly enough to go out there and work hard enough for that win?
