Lyrics in music related to addiction.

You could try a album from Papa Roach called F.E.A.R. That album mostly deals with his personal issues regarding multiple addictions. Jacoby Shadix was a walking addiction by the way. He got healed in the last 15 years alot.

 

Yeah, it is pretty good album and i am not a mega huge fan of them, but that album has some really good songs lyrically and musically.

White House Road--Tyler Childers (country/rock) Basically about dealing with life through sex, drugs and alxohol and the instability of it becoming your demise.

Love is the Deug --Rozy Music. Literally, being a sex addict.

Habits (Stay Hi) - Tove Lo. Using sex (and other bad habits) to stave off heartbreak/despair.

I'd also recommend Alice in Chains. Many of their songs feature or center on themes of addiction, most prominently their album Dirt. Both Layne Staley (less vocals) and Jerry Cantrell (supporting vocals/lead guitar) were heroin addicts. Jerry beat his, Layne didn't. Phenomenal album Desperation, anger, helplessness, the bliss of being high, loneliness--its all on that album. Great lyrics, awesome music and gut-pounding vocals.

 

Thosetwotracks are probably my Dave's but the whole album rocks.

Lots of good recommendations already. Eminem, especially more recently, has lots of songs about addiction/recovery.

Wanted to throw out the band “Icon for Hire.” They’re a rock band with some aspects of electronica and rap. The main theme in a lot of their songs is recovery from addiction. I believe the two founding members are a recovering alcoholic and a recovering cutter.

so many of their songs are about that, but Hope of Morning specifically comes to mind, to give you an example:

“When the hope of morning starts to fade in me,
I won’t dare let darkness have its way with me.
And the hope of morning makes me worth the fight.
I will not be giving in tonight.”
