Hi, I’m 50 and have accepted my addiction, although I count myself fortunate that it is probably at the less severe end. I’m reading “Your Brain on Porn” which has been hugely helpful in accepting where I am and finding strategies to move forward. I have a job I enjoy and I'm very active, which has helped make the first few days pass well, although i can hear temptation knocking at the door fairly constantly.

On here for support and encouragement and to provide it for others where I can.

It takes time. Mine was not addiction for abstinence but people here have many different reasons. Don't expect permanent abstinence right away but over time it works!

Thanks for replying. What is “addiction for abstinence”?
