How do I cure myself from what I have?

I have had this for way too long. I’m 44 but was embarrassed with myself and wish I did something sooner. But basically my issue is I can’t get hard enough for full penetration. I do get random erections in the mornings and sometimes at nite. But my erections are not very hard like it is when I’m watching porn. But even when watching porn I still don’t get really really hard unless I’m using my hands. Watching porn with no touching only gets me semi hard where it’s still soft. So what is the cure for me. No porn but also not touching myself? Can I eventually get rock hard erections without touching myself eventually. Has anyone have what I have and fixed it?

Imo it’s not even porn that’s the toughest addiction. The grabbing my pean I think is even harder. To go to bed without ever touching it?

Strangely I was on antidepressants for a short time before and those drugs were giving me rock hard erections like I couldn’t believe. I just want that. :/

I think you deep down know what you need to do with that. There is no easy way. You have PIED (porn induced erectile disfunction). You can read about it on the interne.

But will it cure the issue of having to use my hand to get hard? The issue too is it gets harder for my hand more than females. How to fix this. Does not touching it anymore cure this?

  4. Yes, there is a way out. Right now your body and brain are both tied to porn and masturbation, that's the issue. The cure is to eliminate porn totally, it's poison and there IS no safe level to look at. You need to commit to total and complete abstinence. Then while you heal, commit to not touching yourself either, your junk needs time to heal just like your brain does.

There are places on here to participate in challenges, start with 24hrs, then go a week, then ?

You'll be shocked how much better you'll feel very soon, the PIED takes longer to heal, but your brain will reset eventually. Check out Your Brain on Porn, it's clip on YouTube, they give some incredible info on there.

Bottom line is that we've been lied to for years, porn and masturbation are not harmless, in fact when they're combined the're VERY dangerous. It's too bad you were never told this, but now you know, and healing can begin.

Can part of the cure be trying to have sex with woman? Obviously the first few attempts will be failures to satisfy her. But is it possible with each attempt the curing starts coming and eventually you will successfully have good sex with one of the females you find?

  6. I'm no expert, but more sexual failure will likely reenforce self loathing, leading to a "fuck it" attitude and relapses. Try a 30 challenge, no wanking, no porn, no sex. Let your mind and body rest and heal.

The goal is a restored mind, body, and soul. Sex is a byproduct of these things, not a goal in itself.

Do we have any actual data on this. Has anyone on here actually went this route and eventually was successful with beating this with this approach? Anyone ever see this as a success story at all?

You have build up tolerance for something and need more of it in order to get the same kind of arousal. I always compare it with an addiction to alcohol. Your tolerance will build up the more you drink, thus slowly creating an addiction. Except for a few severe alcoholics, the effects can be reduced. That is to stop drinking. The same message applies with regards to watching porn. Get your mind off the addictive stuff, and the results will be there. You just have to be very strong and patient.

Though, with regards to your question, it differs per person. Severity of one's addiction, years of addiction. There are many things playing a role when it comes to the duration of one's recovery. It does get better. Your mind will always try to fight you in order to get you watching P and M again. Think about why you wanted change in the first place and hold these thoughts.

Yes there is a lot of data, read the book „Your brain on porn” by Garry Wilson.

  10. There is an entire section on here of success stories, yes we have data. Part of the questioning you have is the addict talking, like an alcoholic asking if drinking is really all THAT bad for you.

You know deep down what you're doing is not only wrong, it's incredibly harmful to you, otherwise you wouldn't be here.

I've beat alcohol in the past and now am seeing success in fighting PMO addiction (so far).
Both battles were waged the same way, with the help and advice of fellow addicts who have fought the battles themselves and won. You're in the right place, stay the course, keep coming back.

I feel like this time I’m going to be more committed to this. But it feels different this time. Like I feel like the chance to be successful this time is much higher. Before when I went out and seen so many attractive woman and even woman that hit on me I used that as an image to fap. But I feel stronger this time. Have been able to resist. After today I’m on day 6.
