The main purpose of the porn industry is to create addicts who spend a lot of money on the porn sites. The technology they use may be far more advanced than we think. They don't only keep their billions of dollars on bank accounts. They may use some kind of subliminal manipulation: images and sounds hidden in the porn scenes that our concious mind is not aware of, which influence us on watching more porn and spending more money on it. We might be mind controlled to some extent. We may not have the full free will. So, if we get addicted to porn, it's not solely our fault, but also that porn itself is very addictive in its nature and that may be additionally supported by some clever techniques that the porn industry use. Do you agree with that?

I have never spent any money on porn sites. There is an avalanche of porn that is for free, so why pay?

They also make money when you just click on some ads on porn sites or you get redirected to them automatically.

  4. But I see tech companies doing this all the time.

No, I don't think subliminal messages are hidden in porn videos. Maybe there are a few companies that have tried it, but in my opinion it is not plausible that it's widespread. It's not necessary, anyway: porn is addictive enough as is, clearly. [IMG]

I absolutely do not. I find that type of thinking simply ludicrous.

I don't think there are subliminal things in P to make you addicted, because P is already addictive by itself. PMO tricks the body into thinking it's having real sex, which releases a lot of dopamine since it's needed to survive (such as eating or sleeping).
Since easily accessible P is a relatively very new thing with the Internet, our bodies and minds aren't ready for this boom of dopamine that can happen many times a day when one is addicted. Then the mind gets so used to these spikes of dopamine that it can't live without them, which is why we get withdrawals.
The only way to get a dopamine spike like that is to PMO again or have real sex. However, if your PMO habits have escalated (to more extreme genres, which will be more novel and release more dopamine) maybe real sex won't even cut it, which is why as addicts we go back to PMO.
The only solution is to live through the withdrawals, as hard as it might be, and over time they will be weaker and weaker until they disappear.
