Its been almost few months since I completed my graduation, my course involved sleepless nights and long hours of work which became a habit. I was an addict then also and I am still a hardcore addict. I can't sleep at night unless I masturbate upto exhaustion. I explained my general physician about my course and how i developed the habit of not sleeping due to work, for which he recomended me a sleeping pill. (didn't tell the doctor about my addiction cause i had my dad around me). I know the real reason for me not able to sleep i.e. if i dont masturbate. Sleeping pill works just fine, i sleep i dont masturbate but how long to continue this? I dont want to be an addict of sleeping pill but want to kick the habit of masturbation and porn. What should i do?
Change the dose to half of the sleeping pill and add an anthihistamine like Diphenhydramine and melatonin then after some days reduce the sleeping pill to 1/4 and after a while only use the antihistamine and melatonin. Diphenhydramine dose: 50 mg before sleep Melatonin dose: 1 up to 5mg before bed
Also you are mixing two thing one is maturbation the other is sleep. Not sleeping increases stress and more prone to masturbate. But you are not asking or seeing the problem. You need to sleep properly masturbation or not. Fix the sleep because otherwise you'll get very sick if not. Then deal with masturbation the two can be link but not like choosing cure one over the other

Get off the sleeping pills asap. So is your day counter wrong (229 days) or are you saying you used to be addicted to masturbating to get to sleep and now just rely on the sleeping pills?
I haven't updated my counter, i am still addicted and rely on sleeping pills to avoid masturbation ...because my high time to masturbate is night time
But i dont get sleep unless i masturbate and if i sleep by masturbating first then i am still strengthening my habit ...infact its an another habit ...sleep only after masturbation
Go for a walk, you decide how long. It has helped me so much during nighttime. You are not going to fall asleep anyways so might as well distance yourself from phone and bed. Also it helps to deal with bad emotions. You should try it.
I tried that too, infact i tried getting up at 8 ... Then workout in evening , then walk for 2 km ...but still at night i end up masturbating .... and if i dont masturbate I dont get a proper sleep .... Very disturbed sleep .

Sleep problems always have an underlying psychological reason. You need to dig into yourself and discover what is causing lack of sleep. You are seeing the problem from an external source: masturbation and sleeping pills. It's like people who need to drink 5 bears or a full bottle of wine to fall asleep. You can have depression or anxiety. Don't blame the pills or masturbation. The cause of your insomnia is probably much deeper.
I consider sleep to be the best indicator of my overall health. When I was active in alcohol and masturbation addiction my sleep was terrible. My eyes would be as wide as saucers during the wee hours of the morning and then it would be next to impossible to drag my ass out of bed whenever I would wake up. Sleeping pills address the symptoms of whatever ails you, it doesn't get to the root.
