I recently finished school and am now on summer break. This has allowed me to spend much more time on Nofap, I check Nofap very often throughout the day to check forums and inbox etc. Could this be slowing down my progress? Am I making my situation worse by constantly thinking about not fapping rather than just avoiding it all together? Or is it good to cement the "do not masturbate" vibe in my brain by being on the site often?

  2. I would say it's better to focus on doing fulfilling activities in your life than being on this forum.
Only come here when you are tempted and to update your journal if you have one.

I think we should approach life from a middle path perspective... imagine yourself to be a string of a guitar...if you tighten it too much, it will break. If you loosen it too much, it won't reverberate. So how about you find a middle path for your situation. Focus on fulfilling your daily activities and nofap is a part of that daily activity. Use this place as a sanctuary against your temptations. Also, I think you should invest your time here in providing solace to others in your own way ( support, positive reaffirmations, being a part of a group etc~ infinite ways to be compassionate).

Also, free time is a gift, so use it wisely. Learn a new skill or two. That's my 2 cents. I hope it helps :)

I use to spend too much time on here, but I was using it to read through journals and educate myself while reaching out to others.

To answer your question being involved and around people that share a similar goal as you does more good than it does harm in my opinion.

I agree with Beni. What helped me my last run through the tough times was spending time on here.

If you have time in your day free, and are willing to spend it here I see no problem with that. Even if it is not for your benefit, you could lend support to others which lifts you in a better mood.

You could feel great and not need to hang around the forums, but there are others who are in the forums feeling like rubbish and could use the support. You can feed off of one another energy, simple psychology.

You have to find balance! I too thought that running away from all this information would help me because I wouldn't be reminded of it, but being able to vent and educate yourself is crucial! Just take it easy, don't overthink and slowly reach your goals! Good luck! Stay focused!

Checking the forums consistently helps after a relapse, when trying to get up again. That's what I'm doing now. I'm gathering all the tips and motivation I can get from here. Perhaps as the days go by I'll come even lesser, but I don't think completely staying away from the group is a good idea, coz one day the urges will creep in and you'll most likely give in than if you're active on NoFap. And good luck

Play it by ear. Some weeks I'm on here hours and hours and some weeks a few minutes every other day. Reading about not fapping won't slow down your reboot. Fapping, however, will.
