Hello everyone, I am coming back onto this forum to ask what the benefits are to quitting porn but allowing yourself to masturbate but to no online stimulation as a way to warm into the nofap process. I understand many on this forum say that you must completely quit masturbation and porn however to go from a guy watching online erotica on a daily basis trying to completely stop it all is setting yourself up for failure. I feel that baby steps and small gradual changes are much better than trying to completely quit all at once. so on to my main question, this is to the people that have quit porn but still allowed themself the release but to no adult movies. What benefits did you notice and how did your overall mindset and perception of life shift and change?

There are no benefits to that, and you will eventually go back to porn after using that strategy.

Baby steps are for pussies. Do you know what happens when you go cold turkey and “set yourself up failure” as you put it? You fail, and you learn. Then you try again, fail, and learn some more. Repeat that until you finally figure it out. Taking baby steps like still MOing without porn, is a deliberate failure. Go cold turkey, with the intent of succeeding. Find a good enough why to quit or you’ll never succeed. You asking if you can still jerk off without porn tells me your why is not even close to adequate.

Yeah well suit yourself son. But by the sound of your idea you keep on failing over and over again because you are trying to take on too much. Masturbation (and you might refuse to admit this) on its own is a natural instinct for both men and women. In moderation it wont do any harm done on its own. Porn however is a super stimulant that ruins you as we all know. They are two separate activities which unfortunately go hand in hand (no pun intended) Baby steps are a good way to build yourself up over time. So as you say "baby steps are for pussies" suit yourself. Enjoy relapsing over and over again. Lots of little baby steps will lead you to big success over time.

I definetly agree what you said. Im in my 37 days today I masturbated twice during this period because Im eengaged with my girlfriend we live in different countries so it was sexphone and I dont feel that I have to balance the counter to 0 no way I think the battle is against porn beside this masturbation is healthy if its not excessive like in my case twice in 37 days its more than reasonable. Small steps leads to big victory. Betterave than trying to cut everything and keeps on relapsing.

Yes my man that is great to hear mate. The main focus on this is to remove internet porn which is the most harmful thing here. If an alcoholic who drinks ten beers every evening decides to all of a sudden cut out all alcohol for the rest of his life, he will sooner rather than later go back to his old ways as he is not used to the harsh change. And it is the same with this, if you are a porn addict and you try to completely cut out everything straight away it will go very wrong. Small progress is better as over time it will all add up and be large progress.

Exactly. In the end, we dont expect same objectif from this journey so I think everyone have the wright to chose his road. For my case Im not here for the supernatural benefits of nofap Im here because I suffer from PIED and PE and I guess that is gonna be a long road so no way for me to cut masturbation or I will just become a sexual. I dont know how to explain it but I think being inactif sexually for 365 day or more is not gonna help in any sense and its gonna be more harmful. Cheers.

Well what is your experience? Everyone is free to approach it however they see fit, but I would just wonder if it changes the frequency of M first of all, and second whether the mental content you imagine is significantly different from that found in porn. Personally, without having that as a plan there have of course been times where I M'd like just getting up out of bed, but the fantasy is still largely porn-like. In that case I don't see much difference, even if for me, maybe because being a very visual person that is FAR less likely to even happen in the first place. So my first question for anyone trying is number wise how much less did you fap, and how is your imagination different from porn you've watched, other than one is through a screen and one is in your mind?

You’re proving that you’re ignorant of reality by not even considering different strategies work for different people.

Has his method been proven to work? This isn’t snowflake.com btw.

  12. As a man, you need to look at masturbation as a tool in your toolbox, a trick up your sleeve, a psychological and physiological pressure valve: because sometimes in life, you really NEED to bust a nut.

There is no shame in it, no failure, no positive or negative moral valuation, it's simply a part of being a man.

    These are my policies:

    1. No pornography, or artificial sexual stimulation, no fantasizing

    2. Do not masturbate more than once a week, or less than once a month

    3. Do not nominate a particular day on which to masturbate, because this encourages compulsive thinking

    4. Practice NoFap strategically. For example, say you have a job interview, an exam, or a hot date lined-up a month from now, you would then practice abstinence to make sure you were at the peak of your powers when you really needed to be.

Yes my friend this is exactly what I mean when I say masturbation in moderation is healthy. Sometimes as a man you need the release or else you become sexually frustrated and cannot focus because you are too horny. So in those situations its a positive. Like a stress reliever.

As a boxer I use nofap before fights but only before fights and sometimes social events.

I dont think about porn scenes or anything like that. And when you are doing it without porn you are not watching this crazy stuff that is on the screen. Which will still allow you to change the way you see women in real life rather than in P.

you’re talking about masturbation being a natural instinct and healthy.. and you’re calling me stupid. It’s a natural instinct for cucks. That’s for sure. Again, let me know when you can go a week without stroking yourself, then maybe we’ll consider your opinion.

hi mate. I'm new here and I'm taking the same approach, baby steps.

we've come to become addicts slowly and gradually. quitting the addiction should be the same. going all in at once is very likely a setup for failure or it's gonna require a huge amount of will power, which most addicts don't have anymore.

plan your recovery, pace the necessary steps and enjoy the journey.

I also think its wise to start in steps.
You can try to start with 7days NoFap but with very strict rules -> no porn, no erotic pictures, no masturbation and no edging
Then you will see whats your starting point. If you can do 7days without big problems continue on your journey and see where you end up.
f.e. if you cant do 7days then your first step is to reach 7days and then release. And then do the 7days few times in a row and aim for higher targets.

I really believe its quite the same with gym. If you never did any sports and suddenly you start bombing it 5days/week -> its nonsense -> you can get injured. But if you aproach it carefully and start with baby steps like f.e. 2-3days/week, build routine, your body get used to new exercise habits and then you build up.
You always have to have solid founding. If you build skyscraper on mud its only a matter of time when you will fall and cause massive problems :D

  20. You're absolutely right, mate. You wouldn't walk into the gym on your first day and bicep curl 50lbs. You would grab the 10lb and work on the basics.
