    Hi guys,

I am a 31 year old male and have been masturbating to porn since I was 14 years old. The reason I am posting this is because I would like others to benefit from my experience so that they can change their life too.

Firstly, it toke me 7 years to reach 90 days of no-PMO and now I finally did it. It was truly one of the HARDEST things I ever did in my life. I have been through some messed up s$#@ in life but I can tell you, this was really difficult!!

    How did I do it:

1- Think of 1 thing that you would really like to have. For example, a new part for your car or new expensive shoes that cost a lot. Whatever it may be. To me, it was this very expensive perfume that I liked which smelled absolutely amazing. So what I did was, I went to the perfume store and bought this bottle of perfume for 280 euro's. Mad expensive right. Then I brought it home and put it on my shelf and looked at it. I said to myself: if I can stay away from PMO for 90 days, then I deserve to have this expensive perfume. If i mess up, this expensive perfume goes right down the toilet.
I did this because my brain is simply chasing things that it likes but my brain hates losing 280 euro's and loves this new perfume.
So everytime the urge was high, I would think of this beautifull and expensive perfume that can be mine if I abstain from PMO for 90 days. This really HELPED! The brain will chase anything that it likes so I basically treated my brain as a dog and held the perfume in front of it (figuratively) for 90 days. As time passed by, the neuro pathways for porn slowly got weaker and weaker and I slowly could control myself again when urges arised.
2- Whatever you do, do not rationalise for yourself why porn is good or bad. Because the brain is one tricky motherf$#^@ that can always beat you in arguments when you have urges. This sounds crazy but treat the brain as a dog which just wants to eat and you have to promise to give it anything after those 90days. So just give the dog one rule: after 90 days you can have this and that (for which I bought expensive perfume).
The trick is: after 90 days, the pathways for porn are so badly damaged that you can actually resist urges. They will always be there but you are not controlled by them anymore. You actually control the dog after 90 days so to speak. It is like walking the park with a dog and now you have it on a leash and you tell the dog when to sit and when to run.
3- Delete any social media like facebook, instagram etc. for 90 days. We live in a time where almost everything is sexualised. Your brain needs detox from those things. There are so many triggers in social media that the dog in your brain just feeds off of. Dont feed it. Starve it for 90 days.

So what will I do in the future:
    - I realise that my succes is very fragile. It is very easy to mess up and fall back in old habits. Like the saying goes, it is hard to create beauty and it's easy to destroy it. Therefore, I have set up one golden rule for myself: whatever happens, I will never ever use artificial things that objectifies a human being. Whether it is porn, social media. Never again. Only good things in life will I chase. The objectification of women has messed up my mind so bad that I only fully realised this after 90 days.
    - I will have a winners-mentality that chases NATURAL joy just like our great grand fathers did. They used to just chase girls in life and fall in love and get married with the love of their lives. And not chase UNNATURAL artificial things like porn on a screen or half naked women on instagram.
    - I am going for the 120 days of no-PMO. This will be easier than normal because it is the month of Ramadan (muslim month of Fasting). After this month, I will evaluate but one thing is for sure: Im never going back to that prison. Never again, that prison called porn.

We live in a time where sex sells anything. It is all around us. So whoever is reading this: it's not your fault brother! You are not a loser for being addicted to porn. But dont play the victim card and say; well its not my fault that naked women are everywhere to see so I'm just a victim. Winners dont have victim-mentalities. Winners win because they have a winners-mentality which is that they dont let circumstances dictate their lives: they make their choices based on what they want from life and not what the environment tells them to. And that's something you have to realise to really kick this habit out of your life.

Finally guys, there is a small percentage of males in the world that TRIES to go 90 days no-PMO. And from that small percentage, an even smaller percentage of that ACCOMPLISHES this challenge. So realise that you will belong to a small elite group of males that can control themselves in era and age of sexualized media. Take pride in this when you accomplish this and you CAN and WILL accomplish!!

@Ghoyous thankyou so much to share your history with all of us. I found many similarities in your post with my life, so it's so precise for me. And it's really amazing job, since you count how many years you have been fighting with this ad when you started in Nofap. Othe similar thing with me.
I have to say that your number 1 trick, the perfume award, is an incredible and interesting strategy. And if it worked for you, maybe could it wor for me? I must to see it. It says too much about your commiment and discipline the last 90 days, it deserves a honest congratulation.
Your point about 120 will not be as hard as 90 days it's logic. Of course, you don't let be over confidence, but you're kind of clear how this fucking addiction works.
I share your point about how we are in the middle of many ways and tricks to sexualised everything, that's real, so delete social media apps it's an amazing idea, unfortuntely I can't do it, because i am part of a dlivery businnes by instagram, but I must reduce my time there, don't let my mind fall in the fake lifes, bodies and dreams.
Yes, 90 days is a select group. Not everyone have the commitment to be there, I am almost sure, that I will be there one day, each day and with some habits that I am changing and incorporating I am sure that It will be more soon than what I had thought before.
As you can see I read each idea that your share in your post, again thanks to do it, it can motivate me, and I am sure that many people are motivating like me. So, I hope to write here soon. I know, that I am gonna do it!
