the Actuall healthy amount of masturbation?

    So i tried Nofap plenty of times for years with no success.
    Lately i've made a big change in the way i see things, this made Nofap not just easy but none existing, i dont do "Nofap" any more, i just not masturbate because i dont.

    this was the situation for about a few weeks now, and i'm starting to worry about the other way around- is this actually healthy to unload every now and then?
    No porn no nothing, just unloading what was built up inside to make room for "new", and keep the systems running.
    i heard all sorts of myths in this regard:
    Masturbate at least once a week for health reasons
    If you don't masturbate for too long, the semen inside you might turn toxic
    you don't need to unload semen, ever, and you will be fine

    i have no idea what is a myth and what is true, and im looking for SCIENCE to back up whatever is true, i need some kind of research on this.

    Firstly, wet dream occurs for a reason.

    Secondly, if you masturbate, don't fantasise. Just masturbate purely to your sensations, and then you will realise how "boring" it is and that porn is really the factor that makes masturbation seems pleasurable.

    The science aspect is definitely what has made my progress easier and is actually quite interesting too.

    The reason people say masturbate once a week is because your testosterone levels spike roughly every 7 days, usually 8 for me. It's why you get waves of urges around this stage of nofap. If you want to do more research on it look into why fighters or athletes in general are told to avoid masturbation and sex one week before there bout or competition.

    Semen are essentially cells that our bodies produce. As time goes on the sperm develop or mature, if unused our body will either excrete them naturally (wet dream) or absorb what we do not need. In other words semen can not become toxic or harmful in any way even if you don't ejaculate again for the rest of your life.

    The last one is true and ties in with what I said above. Monks practice semen retention as a way of life and is seen as a necessity in order to reach enlightenment. Sense pleasures is like salt water. The more you drink the greater the thirst.

    well im afraid i have mine after about 3 days...
    but i guess still once a week for health sake should be fine, maybe once every two weeks

    I remember reading the amount you can masturbate without it affecting your health changes as you get older. If you're under 18, it's mostly healthy to masturbate once a day, if you're under 25 once every 2-3 days and after that I forget. I can't back this up with science because I can't remember where I read it, and I don't think it was much of a scientific source atall, but I'll be glad if this little anecdote helps.

    Personally, I feel awful after masturbation regardless of frequency, but I'm beginning to suspect I suffer from POIS (Post-orgasmic illness syndrome) so I think my experiences are the exception rather than the norm.
