the title of this thread got me. I never knew that throat cancer is linked with oral sex. And it is making a lot of sense when i read the thread. But another thing being highlighted here is that oral sex is natural or unnatural. ofcourse i wouldnt have known about oral sex if i didnt watch porn. but Yuval Noah in his book Sapiens said that everything that can occur is natural. he said this to counter homophobia. As homosexuality is deemed unnatural act by many.

I think u should dig deeper into scientific studies in this field. Science says viruses can cause cancer in our body but doesn't mean they always do. It's more about genes, 'though bad habits may also affect it. Take Corona virus for instance. I see lots of old people survive and lots of young people die! I see a young girl that was taken to ICU and another one that was totally fine and didn't show any symptom and got cured.
Not everything that can occur is natural. I think the accurate definition would be : every occuring behavior that can be only triggered by instinct with the minimum societal influence. When a baby sucks it's mother's breast right after being born is clearly a natural phenomenon, an adult using their reproductive organs for an irrational purpose only explained by a quest for pleasure is NOT natural. that is exactly what societal influence means.
It is linked to infections as well. A forum member told me in private how he got throat infection only with going down on an ex. There are more cases like this than the medical community is willing to say. Of course who wants to upset the big liberal lobbies ?
What you are talking about is Papilloma Virus , i come from a medical school I can tell you that if you have papilloma in your throat it will not necessarily give you cancer. The real cause is immunosuppression. And throat's cancer due to papilloma is rare , but possible with immunosuppression. You should worry more about papillomas to the genitals and unprotected sex.
About oral cavity and oropharynx , it's only HPV . In other locations there're others I checked my book it seems about 70% of oral carcinoma ( malignant cancer ) is due to this virus and immunosuppression.
Unprotected sex and oral sex and if the subject is immunosuppressed it can become cancer . However, millions of people have the virus, it is one of the most endemic , it rarely becomes a problem . Protected sex is the solution
It is always best to keep human sexuality natural and avoid all those pleasure-driven imitations aka oral or anal sex. You spoke only about the possibility of cancer, but you didn't say much about infections. Even a virgin person can transmit those to another, because our privates are naturally hosting billions of bacteria that only belong there and nowhere else. Those very bacteria are not harmful to our bodies and even play a significant role in protecting our reproductive health. It is beyond my comprehension that many believe oral sex to be safe and some even say that it is just as natural and normal as penetrative intercourse. While clearly it is expected for any person who haven't beem severely exposed to western medias (porn as an example) or culture to be repulsed by it. I think many wouldn't even think about doing it if not the persistent references to it in movies, shows, magazines and of course internet porn. That is one thing I would be 100% sure of, because no type of influence can be considered as strong like modern pornography is.

You forgot one important factor: no one would like to have protected oral because their mean goal is to be pleasured, the performer might be safe but the receiver will not feel much stimulation. So the whole thing becomes pointless afterall.
You hear a lot of men complaining because of wearing condoms during penetrative sexual intercourse. Knowing that they still get stimulatuon from it nevertheless. I don't believe people will agree to have protected oral even if it is safer.

Very few people would engage in oral if not the omnipresense of pornographic material. And the majority would be repulsed by it.
Porn is just full of the most reckless, disgusting and inhuman types of sexual behavior. I don't think I ever heard an actress say "I love you" to someone she was in a scene with, which is totally natural in real relationships and sex. Oral can probably be done right, safely, and lovingly. We could discuss anal which has absolutely no redeeming aspects; abusive, disrespectful, unhealthy and disgusting, but I have heard celebrities saying they do it like Christopher Walken. If a guy wants to really antagonize a girl I can't think of a more likely way to do it.
This is where I fail to understand you. Both aren't natural, and both are risky and not so appetising. I don't see how you have this grounded view on anal but find oral to be completely acceptable. I think anal and oral are equally unnatural and deviant from our bodies' designed use.
