    Hey everyone,

As of a few days ago I did a search on my boyfriend/husband watching porn and reading women comments about how porn addiction is ruining a lot of men lives, as it has done for me. I never realized how it impacted every aspect of your life from social relationships to self-esteem.

Porn addiction started with me when the internet came into existence which was around 1994-1995 and I was in high school at the time. And when I begin to watch it..everything went downhill and soon after high school I was able to talk to girls and get sexual with them but eventually I got too addicted to porn and it ruined me for way too many years and I'm too ashamed to say how many years because I wasted so much of my life doing it, knowing now that I've could had a family and possible some children by now.

But I've go nofap for 7 days and not ever looking back..I want to eventually conquer this and eventually have a healthy relationship with a new girlfriend/wife to be my replacement for my sexual health. My social skills are terrible and never realized this porn addiction was part of the problem so....I got a lot of work to do. Well anyways I'm glad I'm here and I believe we all can defeat this porn addiction (porn industry has been the worst thing ever created).

Welcome, and I wish you the best. We have all started here with the same realisations that you have - that something is wrong, and it will be work for us to fix it. But that's encouraging, because the formula for success is right there! The work is not just avoidance of the habit, but making a new life with no space for it. Start with your goal, make it an acheivable one for where your head is at right now. Journal, if you are willing. We all learn from each other here. Good luck with all your dreams - just start with today:)

I'm curious to what section of the forum do we log our journal

  5. Welcome.
Most of us did a newbie post to get started and welcomed. Then we begin a regular journal under the age-appropriate grouping. I am under the 40+ for example. I invite you to read mine, send me a private message if you so desire, ask any questions, and move forward with steps toward recovery. Set yourself a goal...mine is 90, which I'll reach next week. I'm going to add another 90 at that time and keep going. Set up a counter. Add in some other replacement,self-care activities...exercise, prayer, meditation, walking, etc. and focus on them instead of the pull toward porn.

It sounds like you've experienced the worst of this terrible addiction and are ready to recover. You are on the right track.

    Jim
