Hello, I tried to nofap and on day 5 I went in reboot because of PMO. My computer was full of porn pics and movies collected through 18 years. The idea of deleting everything always scared me, it was like deleting a part of my life. Porn was even organised in folders for type, artists, so important it was. But yesterday after this last failure I felt very guilty, so I took a deep breath and deleted everything, about 200gigs of crap. I thought I would have regret that moment, but today I'm feeling happy and joyful about it. Hope this decision helps, now I have to stay away from netporn.

Congrats man! That's the #1 best thing to do to tackle this thing!

It's so weird that you can become so attached to your porn, I still remember as a young teenager when I collected videos during the times of slow ISDN modem internet and there was a particular short clip I since lost and ever since I used to occassionally find it online but to no avail and now I look at it like, what is the attachment here? Is it normal to be nostalgic about some video of some woman you've never met and PMO'd to? It's just sick, and if you feel like shit after you delete your porn, it's high time you do that. Best thing to do.

Gentlemen, P17, Angriff, gettingwayout, aron, I hope you are well. I agree with everything that has been said in this thread. I never stashed porn. Cannot say why, it was just that porn was so easy to find on the net I never felt like I could not get to it. Angriff is right, porn has no value. In the quitting phase that thought did not help me because it did not get me dopamine and it did not sooth dopamine withdrawals, but now, on the quit side, and 6 months porn free/PMO free, and MO free, it does comfort me. My brain is no longer actively pushing me for a dopamine fix, so I can more rationally understand the utter lack of value porn had in my life. I gave up nothing but a bad habit. That thing gettingwayout said about being almost sentimental about a piece of porn, I understand that. I still remember the first 8 second clip I downloaded at 56K. Took about 40 minutes. I may have become addicted the moment I downloaded it.

P17, the link aron posted....read it. I don't know where you are in analyzing your problem, but for me my problem became starkly clear when I admitted to myself I had an addiction to porn. Sounds horrible, I know, but once I made that admission to myself, I could work on getting clean. Until then I just an annoying little porn problem that I could not quit a few hundred times over the years. I don't believe quitting porn can be casually done. It requires focus. For a while in the beginning, let's say first 30 days, you should define yourself as a man quitting porn. Whatever else you are in your life, you should wake every morning to that definition, remind yourself of it throughout the day, say it before you go to bed. You are not a man using porn, you are a man quitting porn. You are a man who does not use porn. You are quit. You will not experience porn, no matter what. Get about 30 days in and a lot of guys report a tipping point. At that point, they want to avoid porn more than the want to seek it. I hope you get there.

    Good luck in your journey.

Wow what you've done is not easy, it seems that you have a strong personality, this is the most important step to get away from this crap as you call it, you made it !
Now, you will feel guilty because there is no such thing to do right now, you were happy at the past because of porn, and this is true, porn bring you fake temporary happiness, but those sweet feeling evaporates right after doing PMO, just keep this in mind and i wish you the best.
