The anti depressants caused the ED but any porn and even a little extra jacking off make it worse. It’s really about self control and wanting good orgasms. He works good for his age he just needs a little help.

Well, the people have spoken! More than 70% of the respondents recommend a reboot period of a full year or more. In fact, more than 50% of you believe my reboot ought to last significantly longer than a year.

So, here I am trying to come to grips with the harsh reality of the addiction I caused myself over so many years. Knowing that I will need at LEAST a year to recover is a daunting--but necessary--task.

I admit to feeling a bit "blah" now that my flat line phase seems to be arriving. Somewhat jealous of the men out there who DIDN'T abuse themselves over decades. I know I'll get there....just going to take a while......as in....a year or more!

Thanks to everyone who voted and offered their encouragement.

(please feel free to post and vote, the more I hear, the better.)

I think it is not easy to prescribe the duration of rebooting. First we should take a look on the forum's glossary:

So the question is: how much time should we abstain from any sexual behaviour, triggering conversations and thoughts? It will depend mainly on two things:
    • The time spend practicing PMO.
    • The degree of awfulness of the porn viewed.
The more time and awfulness the more time we need to reset to factory settings. I have been resetting for five years, and due to many relapses I am still in the way. So, this can take long.

Besides this, I think that even those who have not had any experience with PMO, but who have had sterile intercourse for the sake of pleasure should also reset to factory settings. In general, in today's western society there are many aspects that makes necessary for nearly all to reset to factory settings (maintaining, of course, those programs and files that we currently have and are beneficial).

PD: I have voted more than a year.

It’s been a while and I’m still struggling. I’d be encouraged to know what you guys are recommending these days.

Do y’all think more than a year? Please vote. Thanks.

  5. No one can give you a straight answer. I'm 21.5 months in and STILL recovering. You'll know when you'll feel better.
