So on day 8 of no masturbating or gambling. I am having really dark thoughts a couple of days into my journey I have felt good. The rest blah lol I think I am dealing with a leaky gut and dysbiosis (probably caused by all the years of masturbating) as well so that won't help but I don't know what to do to be honest. I need to feel better than this my thoughts are so dark and it might be withdrawal but I feel so down

Have a look at this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rat_Park

You're in withdrawal, your body is demanding its due, the hormonal balance it's become used to. It's pleading harder that it normally has to to get a fix. This too shall pass.
Go to the movies, grab a good book. Make a cup of tea, listen to music. Call a friend - if you feel embarrassed, go on omegle, talk to people.
    You can do this.

Thank you so much for reply. Does it take ages to get better or can it become permanent I'm not asking for medical advice lol just in your experience? Thanks again :)

Also could it be made worse that I had a crappy nights sleep last two nights?

kamado -- some of the latest research on depression indicates that a Vitamin D deficiency can contribute to it. When I'm depressed I go for a half-hour walk when the sun is at its brightest (usually around noon) and soak up some rays. Also, when walking if you will focus on what is around you instead of what's going on in your head, I think you will find it helps calm you down and reduce the anxiety. The Zen call this "walking meditation".
