Believe me, you really don't.

 

My guess is that it may work something like this. We have natural quirks/preferences that we're born with and/or develop as we mature. Much of the time they're relatively mild, self-contained, and don't interfere with our lives or relationships. Sometimes with the right partner they can even serve to help keep things exciting over time and/or increase intimacy.

However, when porn gets involved, especially when combining it with the dopamine boost of masturbation, two things can happen. The first is that these relatively benign preferences get 'fed' through repeated exposure to those graphic representations of them, and thus become exaggerated as to how important they really are to us. The second is that, due to the novelty effect, entirely new types of fetishes can develop that weren't even part of our core identity originally.

The point is, both types are artificial distortions that occur through the self-reinforcing pleasure pathway provided by the endless variety of easily-accessible porn out there nowadays. This means that by blocking the porn, and letting sufficient time pass, the process should reverse itself, such that we return to our normal core state as some fetishes weaken into milder preferences, and others disappear completely.
