Meditation is the only prime reason I can go without PMO. It helps me set my priorities and keeps me alert. However I hate it when I'm not regular because I get really busy with stuff and that stresses me out.but I guess meditation has to be done anyway.

What benefits have you seen and what is your method of medutation.?

The benefits vary quite largely depending on the day, It's an anchor for me, I set my intentions for the day thru meditation and it really does set the mood for my day.
So benefits can be better focused, puts me in a better mood and makes me ok with the world, also it puts me in touch with my feelings, sometimes I get songs or pictures to paint, it makes me more aware in general and I'm more social after meditating.
I've had a couple out of body experiences thru meditating and those were trippy.
Hyper reality is what it felt like. Hard to explain, but it felt like this world was a dream and I was only truly awake during the OBE.
I haven't had an OBE in a couple of years, I need to get back to it.
It is one of my lifetime goals to master the process of OBE's, which I may get back to practicing soon.

When I meditate I pick a focal point or intention. The basic is to send back the energies that do not belong to me and to focus on my breathing while I do this and try to clear my mind of all thoughts. Also I will do sourcing and grounding meditation, pulling energy from the earth and god/source.
I do meditations that are supposed to redistribute the sexual energy to other parts of the body.
It just depends on my mood, do I believe in everything I experience? No, does it work for me? Absolutley!!!

    I agree with thanatos.
I've had some crazy experiences with meditation. Really trippy yes.
Its always hard to explain as touchtheotherside said because this is something beyond the mind and words aren't enough.
My first meditation experience was when I realized i didn't know how to meditate at all. It was in a trip to a beautiful place with mountains and beautiful scenaries and it happened quite spontaneously as I sat in silence in pure communion with nature. all throughout the meditation, I had this feeling of head no longer on my shoulders or as if I wasn't in my body lol. I'm not making this up. I even tried to open my eyes but I didn't want to. it was the most blissful experience ever.

I think meditation is very critical in recovery. Very important. Its not for serious people though its always most effective when I take it to be as a recreational activity.
There is a lot of science and research behind meditation and its positive effects on the body and mind can not be ignored. Its a great way to rewire the brain!

Meditation has given me the power to see that thoughts/emotions/impulses are not me. They are transitory, and if I observe them and let them pass without engaging them -- without striving to hang onto the pleasant ones or repress the unpleasant ones -- they will disappear. Finding that space between thought/emotion/impulse and action has been the greatest gift I have received from meditation so far.

  8. i had been doing meditation since 10 years. unfortunately I am not regular till now. but when i do it regularly there are times when i go so deep that i can even feel the presence of soul inside my body

then i try to stay there as long as i can

this is the state where not even a single thought comes in my mind, I dont feel anything, I dont hear anything, I dont know or remember anything
