Hi, guys. I feel totally embarrassed about myself after tonight. I'm afraid I will be alone in my life. The world doesn't know my secret. I think it's time to delete all the adult content that I have. What's wrong with me?
You're free to say what you want here. Go ahead and delete that content, one less thing to temp you as you work on recovery.
That is a good idea ! and for some other good ideas and helpful advice: If you haven't already done so, please read the "Getting Started Guide" available on this site's home page. It includes a lot of information that you will find helpful as you start your journey of healing. Also have a look at the "Glossary" on the top of this page for definitions of abbreviations and terms that may be new to you. One day at a time is how we all succeed.
I've been there. Delete it all, and get a plan for your recovery. Joining up here is a good step. Beyond that, there are a lot of online workshops, programs, etc. Therapy was an important step for me, as well. Hang in there. One day at a time.
I had a secret folder in my Google Drive that was full of years worth of content from a girl I was with for years. Had to delete it, and while it was kind of difficult, it was also exhilarating and worth it. Don't let a virtual collection of pictures hold you back from being better. You can do anything!
e Hi, you mention online workshops, can you recommend any for sex addiction? I appreciate any tipp. Thanks
Thank you for your responses. You know, I think I have to talk about it to my psychotherapist the next time.
XXXchurch has a couple of video-based workshops. I did the 30-day workshop (15 videos + 15 days of workbook stuff): https://videos.x3workshops.com/products/the-new-x3pure-30-day-online-workshop They also have a lot of online resources. ebooks, etc. There are also smartphone apps out there. Reboot is one I use. Most are free, some are very inexpensive and worth it, IMO.
I did one-on-one therapy with a great counselor for three months, and now am currently in group therapy, led by the same guy. He works almost exclusively with sex addictions. REALLY helped me unravel how I got to where I was in my porn addiction, and as a result, made my recovery much better... it's so important to dig deep and find out why we do what we do, and what pain it is we're trying to medicate with sex or PMO.
No problem. They also have support groups that meet via video chat once a week. That has been a HUGE help to me. It's $40 a month, but worth every penny and very convenient; they meet all times of the day, 7 days a week. My group has 6 guys and it is awesome. Hope this helps! Hang in there
Yeah, but the thing about me is that most of the content that I have is about foot fetish stuff, shoes, femdom en cetera.
