Do nude photos count as porn?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, May 20, 2019.

  1. So, yesterday I looked at some nude photos of Dorothy Stratten which were published in a magazine. Those were artistic nude photos, but still they arouse me. I didn't fap though but I couldn't stop myself from looking at those pics. Does it count as porn?

In my opinion YES, it counts as p.

    @Greene stand up and fight.
Is not easy, I know that and I understand, but it's worth it.

Try to keep away from technology as much as you can and you we'll be good.

And 36 days without pmo is great! You are strong.

  5. Anything that is artificially sexually stimulating is P. At least, that is how I must view it. Anything else is a lie and will eventually pull me back into full-blown PMO.

  6. Thanks. Atleast I didn't watch anything involving sexual acts and haven't masturbated yet, so that's a plus. Yes, I think I need to seriously cut down on using technology. It can ruin my life and all the hard work.

  7. I would say artistically nudephotos could be more of a psub than actually porn. In my opinion, it kind of depends on the picture, and how you're using it. I mean if you're looking at artsy nude photos to jack off to, then I would say you're treating it as porn. But if you were looking at them to maybe see something exciting and get a little aroused by it, then I would call it a porn-substitute. And if you were just reading that magazine and happened to stumble upon the photos completely by accident, then I wouldn't really call it anything.

    That's just my personal opinion.

  8. Well, I was just reading that article, saw her face and was already aroused by it. I didn't fap to her photos, no. But I did search for her name intentionally to see some of her nude photos because I knew they'd be there. I'm in kinda dilemma. One part of my brain says its normal to be aroused on seeing a beautiful face, other part says its wrong. Idk.

  9. The term 'porn mags' suggests yes.

  10. Well on that point, I would say that's definitely normal. Nothing to worry about. You're a normal guy who is aroused by women. There's nothing wrong with that.

  11. He didnt say porn mags though... he said they were pictures in a magazine. Maybe I'm ignorant, because I dont know who Dorothy Stratton is, but plenty of actors do nude shoots that are published in magazines, and most of those kinds of photos I wouldn't consider porn. They're not even really showing anything half the time, even though they are technically "nude."

So yeah, I guess it depends on what kind of magazine we are talking about.

  12. K, I just looked her up, and she's a playboy model, so yeah, I would say that's porn and there's no way you just happened to be reading that magazine and stumbled upon a dirty picture.

  13. Being attracted to a person in a photo you stumble upon is one thing. Deciding to then Google the name and see more nude photos is when it crosses over into different territory, imo. For me, P-subs are the same as P and must be avoided as completely.

  14. It wasn't a porn magazine. Just an article about her murder and how some people are claiming to have seen her misty appearance in her area. It wasn't bad but after that I serched for her name with "strict search" filter off because I knew that may offer me some of her artistic nudes.

There's a saying: "Pornography is hard to define, but you'll know it when you see it."

IMHO, seeing pictures of people naked or people having sex is not the problem, it's how you react to seeing it and how you treat it, or access it that becomes a problem.

If you can't help yourself to looking at naked people or people having sex in that it causes disruptions to your social, personal, and professional life, then you have a problem, and that needs working on.

  16. The article contained just a normal face pic of her. It was about her murder and the claims of people seeing her misty appearance living in her native area .

  17. Then yes, that is porn.

It’s a little bit of a grey area, and ultimately you have to decide. For myself, I don’t go on Instagram, and there’s some shows and movies that I’ll avoid. I’ll come across some non-nude pics on Facebook and look briefly, but so far in this streak I’ve always stopped myself and posted on nofap or done something similarly healthy in order to redirect the momentum before I go down that slippery slope. I don’t think you’re going to really lose much by counting it as a reset, especially if you didn’t masturbate. Either way, don’t beat yourself up about it, be firm but gentle, keep coming back, and take it one day at a time
