How to stop self doubt

    Recently i took the vow never to PMO again. I am not even that interested in porn but i am more scared of failure for some reason. I just cant get this doubt out of my head. It is fucking killing me and I am constantly obsessing about porn.

    I do have up and downs, however. I just cant keep my mind positive for some reason.

    I have some options.

    Just allow my mindset but mindlessly push through. Eventually my mind will get better but i honestly might spiral into uncontrolled depression if i do this method.
    I just need a failsafe method of keeping my mind positive.
    At this point I'd rather just go back to PMOing and not worrying about porn than obsessing over it. Its absolutely killing me man.

Self doubt happens from overthinking, as someone with ocd i know all about it, honestly the only way to get rid of it is to believe in yourself, you can either keep torturing yourself or you can say no, i can do this, i can do anything i want to accomplish, you must believe you are worthy, you must believe you can achieve it, put a smile on your face, have faith in yourself bro and believe it!.

    Youre right man. Its not constant because i do this myself daily... i wish i could just stay positive all the time

  4. The trick is to catch yourself when you notice you are being negative, than give a big smile and say i got this!!!.

    your fear works against. instead of being afraid of the failure along the way, embrace it. Embrace it as a step in the process. this is not a linear race to the finish line. this is a race with peaks and valleys, steps backwards and steps forward. and you will make it out of here.

    putting yourself on trial after a relapse is the worse thing you can do. especially because porn for many of us is at least partially a reaction to stress. extra stress wont help. if you happen to relapse, just let it happen, and let it pass. and move on and continue to do the things that have prevented relapse for you overall.
     
  6. Use the positive self talk. Tell yourself everyday, I really mean everyday, that you will succeed, you will achieve anything you want, nothing will stop you. Listen to positive music, watch funny videos, do anything that lifts your mood up.

  7. Making vow to drop something by itself means you think it is important and you give it too much thought.
    When someone burns their hand on an open flame, they do not vow to stop doing it, they stop doing it and it never crosses their mind. Herein lies the key to stopping, you stop dedicating time to it, physical and mental.
    You not only not do it, you stop thinking about it. You do not think - oh I am thinking about porn, I must resist, you just kick that thought the moment it arrives and move on.

    Thinking is ultimately what you are trying to change. So treat thoughts about porn, as porn and say no, go things to do. Then you will feel how difficult it is to drop it and this is when you are making progress.
    Many people that stop, continue to think about it, their obsession turns from porn to thinking about not doing porn.

    You brain gives you thoughts all the time, feeling hungry - you think of food, if you cant get food you begin to think about what you would eat if you did.
    Your brain has a need, it tosses you thoughts, they come to your attention and you begin to entertain them, it will not be long before they consume your attention and develop in a crave.
    If you keep rejecting suggestions your brain gives you then it will eventually try other activities that satisfy the need as alternatives.
    Ok fine you do not want to watch porn lets have sex, now you are thinking about sex..

    Right well thanks for that but it is easier said than done. I barely know anyone who can just 'kick a thought' when it comes into their head when they have an addiction. Too much what and not enough how
     
  9. So you will just sit there and think about porn, great plan.
    Yes it is hard, but it is exactly what dealing with addition is. Should I give you advice on how to manage your thoughts? Think of something else, do something.
    If you indulge thinking about it not matter what angle you take, you are not dealing with your addiction.
    In pretty short time, thoughts will be less and less frequent.
