I didn't manage to have a girlfriend and lose my virginity till I was 20 after a life of jerking off and falling in love (probably lust) with girls who weren't attracted to me, ergo loneliness, self loathing etc. My first kiss wasn't anything romantic or memorable, it was from being incredibly drunk at a festival in Portugal. I was there in the first place because I was completely in love with a Portuguese girl for over a year who never really reciprocated. I decided that it wasn't working 'trying to get a girlfriend'. I spent that energy instead on myself - being more confident, taking better care of myself, working harder at my degree and hobbies - and hey presto girls started to flirt with me at parties and in normal life (really strange feeling once you realise what's happening) which led to my first ever relationship and has been the foundation of every one since. I get so pissed off at friends who whine all the time about being single - who would want to date someone like that? If you're an attractive person, people are going to be attracted to you.

Call me silly but reading askmen.com helped me a lot with some day-to day basics. Although I got laid at 17 and been through plenty of relationships I am currently having a "dry" period (2 and a half years without sex or girlfriend) due to some life- issues (I'm 22 now, I haven't started to worry yet haha). I am not really that handsome, but as my ex-girlfriend said "any girl who starts a private conversation with you is doomed to fall" I try to break it down for you: 1. be funny 2. be smart 3. be interesting 4. if not then pretend that you are interesting 5. try to put the focus on the girl 6. ask questions about her rather than talking about yourself 7. don't be afraid to ask for her number 8. always be prepared to ask for her number (even on the bus hehe) +1 a bar/club is the HARDEST/WORST place to meet somebody (unless you just wanna get laid) go for libraries/coffee shops/house parties) I'm quite flegmatic when I'm with friends, I usually don't care about them or stuff (people often mistake it as me being shy) but if my interest is caught by a girl then I "man-up" and try to be myself, surprisingly: it works. (It sounds like cheesy bullshit I know, but it really works)
