    Hi guys,

I really don't know if I have to feel happy or not during this phase of reboot process. Yes! the erections are a lot harder and better and feeling very good with the accompanying sexual feelings which are healthy one's I suppose since I'm not watching porn stuff any more. But at times, I do look at some of my favourite actresses pics(non-naked) mostly when I feel on a HIGH.

But the underlying question remains. Am I really freely myself from sex addiction with the NoFap challenge? Feeling erect most of the time during the day and having incredible urges to play with my thing is really giving me a torrid time with the challenge. Can't wank/Can't Edge/Can't see porn but staying erect all the while fantasizing things in mind with no hands on IT is some real tough job.

    Any ideas are most welcome.

    Thank you!

    Hi Wannabe_NoFapper,

Stopping the external behaviour of PMO and edging is a good place to start, but that alone is not enough. I found from my own experience that I have to really watch my internal behaviour. What this means is not getting caught up in fantasies or inappropriate thoughts. Having a very strong motivation is essential to break away from thoughts about P and fantasies. In my case I clearly realized the harm P has caused myself and how it had caused me to behave inappropriately towards others. I realized that thinking about P and fantasizing went against my conscience. When this became clear, I had the motivation to break free. When I was able to make progress I gained confidence and things became easier, and now I feel much more free. At first it is hard to break away from the negative thoughts, but as you continue the negative thoughts have less pull. I'd suggest not focusing too much on severing ties with the thoughts about P, but instead focus on strengthening your motivation. That way it becomes a positive process instead of a negative one. Instead of always thinking "I am doing something wrong", put the focus on the right thing to do - for example, "I want to be more sincere, I can be better." This way you can encourage yourself without being overly critical of yourself. Hopefully this approach will be helpful in freeing yourself from sexual addiction.

    Wishing you all the best!

First of all, you impress me. If you managed to go on a 50 days streak while having constant urges, well you have a hell of a willpower, my friend.

Now, maybe you're having a hard time with the challenge because you haven't modified your thinking habits enough, and now they're conflicting with your abstaining behavior.
You did a great job so far, now maybe you should get on the psychological training, learn how to channel, control or suppress those urges.
The simplest way is to focus on something else. The more often you're distracted from porn or inopportune sexual arousal, the less likely you'll be to experience those thoughts in the future. It should make your challenge go smoother ;)

A few options are exercising (you'll get both the distraction and physical exhaustion), studying, getting sucked in a book, film or video game (whatever works best).
I can't recommend meditation enough, it calms you down, and teaches you how to recognise your negative mind patterns (anger, stress, urges), and reduce their intensity. It's a wonderful tool to achieve well-being for everyone, it's even more useful when you're experiencing stress from fighting an addiction.

Hope you find this useful, I wish you much progress and good luck.
    Keep it up :)

Well, It's not easy thing for sure but what's the guarantee that finding one would solve it? And how? Is it not using her up for selfish motive?

Surely will try meditating to improve on monitoring and analysing the thought wave patterns. And I absolutely agree that focusing on something else would help things to get more better. Some wise men say that having sheer will-power alone is not enough in attaining some challenges. May be we need conscience driven will power for attaining higher goals.

Turning it off and on again? What does that suppose to mean? Can we allow ourselves to let the heat be driven out by switching off the challenge momentarily and then start all over again from DAY 1 or continue the counter from the day we switched out from challenge?

Thanks for the suggestion mate.Very rightly said. It's the brain's habit centre and the bad wiring thing that needs to be altered and can only happen through focusing on positive and constructive activities to do.

This is a startling revelation. I think if we "trick" our brains so to speak by turning on our counters and then starting them over again, gives us the opportunity to rethink our position in our challenge and whether or not we want to continue on with it. For instance, last night I looked at porn but am feeling a bit depressed and angry that I have to reset my counter. This could actually be a good thing since I am reinforcing my brain to say "we have to do this no matter what". In the process I think I am getting stronger. not that we should relapse just so we can reset our counters. That would be counterintuitive. Instead, I think if we've been on a long streak...like over 90 days, we should just reset our counters and go back to square one thinking that we've failed. This would then trick our brain to try harder and continue fighting on as if we had lost the battle, but have already won. Does this make sense?

I doubt you can trick your mind into thinking you failed. If you should actually manage, you may be in danger of binging because of it xD
